Loved it. The best tasting beef around and I enjoyed the original dacore. A Great Japanese Bb'q. Service was good and prices very reasonable. Highly recommend.

The title says it all; this is hands down the best beef I've had in the city. The other fare such as the pork and seafood are also quite excellent. The service is very top notch as the staff is very well trained. Not cheap fare but definitely worth it.

We wandered into Kazu as we were staying across the road and didn't want to travel far on this evening due to dodgy tums.

The menu is actually amazing, don't be put up by the fact that a lot of the photos are of raw meat - it gets cooked, in a fun style.

There are also numerous other options on the menu apart from the barbecue and we tried many of them, enjoying everything that was ordered.

The staff made the visit fun and enjoyable and the bill, when it came, was very reasonable.

We hope to return next time we visit Phnom Penh.

Driving through the neighborhoods of Phnom Penh these days, it seems as though Japanese restaurants have become ubiquitous. Kazu felt like one of the "also-rans" in the competition for customer patronage among the numerous Japanese restaurants in this city. The lunch I experienced was definitely affordable, the restaurant clean, the service attentive to the customer, but other than the chopsticks on the tray of food served, there was nothing particularly Japanese about the meal. Kazu, for this Japanophile was the kind of smallish restaurant that, in Japan, workers go for a quick 20 minute encounter with something to fill up their tanks, not for the pure enjoyment of manifest culture, ambiance, or culinary delights. While I was served a perfectly adequate lunch of broiled chicken cutlet, a bowl of steamed rice, and a cup of clear broth soup, unless the owners make a greater effort to differentiate their restaurant from all the other Japanese restaurants of such average nature in Phnom Penh, Kazu is destined to stare at the river running without ever being drenched in popularity. In its current stage of operation, Kazu defends itself against the risk of success.
