If you make it to Ulaanbaatar, then you must take a trip to Hustei. Our party stayed in gers and the food was included. We got to explore the beautiful park and got to see the only wild horse left in the world. The whole trip was also very economical and staff was helpful.

If you in UB have the time, then visit here, can be visited in a day but best to have an overnight near by in a Ger camp, include time to visit the dunes near entrance of the park. The main reason to visit is to see the horses but there is so much else deer, squirrels, marmots, birds, all will probably make an appearance. They say the best time to visit is morning in evening when the horses are coming down to the wearing holes ot drink but you may see them at other times. Worth visiting the small information centre at the gate and you can arrange a guide. The park is big and has a couple of routes to be followed, most use the smaller route, that usually is good for seeing lots of wildlife.

This place is approx. 2 to 3 hours' drive from Ulaanbaatar city and is where the wild horses of Mongolia are. You can also see antelopes on top of the hill. Best to have a zoom camera or binoculars as they may be a bit far away. You can spend as much time as you want here if you want to wait for the wild horses to come down from the hill to the stream for water. If you are lucky, they could be already by the stream when you arrive and hence you don't have to wait that long.

Superb wild park home to the famous Prezwalski's horse, Mongolian gazelle and Siberian Marmot among other mammals. Eagles and other birds of prey abound as does their prey species. In the season flowering plants are also a feature of the natural grasslands: steppe.
