“Nice place, great location.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2012

Our stay in Istanbul at the Hotel Esans was great. The location was perfect, in the Sulfanahmet area, just a very short walk from the Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and other attractions. This is a very small hotel, with only 8 rooms, but service was great, with the hotel staff being extremely friendly and very helpful. We felt that they really went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. They made numerous recommendations for us as far as restaurants, attractions and getting around the city.

The breakfast was adequate and quite good, with a selection of Turkish breakfast foods served buffet style each morning.

The rooms are small, but quite comfortable. The bathrooms were also small, but adequate. We have stayed in many European hotels, so this was not a surprise, nor was it any inconvenience for us. A note to travelers: it is a 3 story hotel with no elevator. So if you have difficulty climbing stairs, you may want to consider staying elsewhere. For us, this was not a problem at all. The hotel has a lovely roof terrace with some spectacular views of the Hagia Sofia. The hotel also has complimentary wireless internet access.

All in all, it was a great place to stay in Istanbul. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent is understatement considering the amount that we paid for our 4 nights stay at Esan's. The hospitility started even weeks before our trip to Istanbul with the staff spilled us with so many details and tips visiting Istanbul. Knowing we are a honeymoon couple spending our sweet time in Istanbul, they thoughtfully decorate our room with heart shape towel & even provide complimentary fruits platter :). They really made effort to make us feel so welcome and enjoy the stay.

The staff at reception was eagerly waiting to show us map and how to go around Istanbul upon our arrival! Being travelling for quite a while and stayed at various hotels, that was our 1st time been assisted without us asking for help. They really take care of their guests and one of them even walked us to the nearest tram station to show us way. The room was simply amazing taking after dedicated perfume odour for each room, and they even sell homemade perfumes. The breakfast was rich and fulfilling to start your long day. We definitely stay at Esan's in our next trip to Istanbul..a beautiful city with lots of beautiful people.

Me and my husband visited Istanbul on the first week of February and stayed in Esans Hotel for three nights. Esans Hotel is an excellent choice for those who visit Istanbul. The hotel is five minutes walking from all the major attractions and the tram, so in 15 minutes you can be in Taksim Square and Galatas Tower.
The staff was really helpful and kind and always there if you have any question about the transportation etc. We really enjoy the breakfast. Although the weather was cold, our room was always warm.
It will certainly be our first choice the next time we visit Istanbul.

From the moment my friends and i stepped into this charming little hotel we felt instantly welcomed. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure that we were able to make the most of our five nights in Istanbul. Nothing was too much trouble and we had many great meals and experiences based on their recommendations. The hotel was perfectly located, just a 5-10 minute walk to all the main attractions as well as resturaunts and markets. Rooms were all beautifully adorned and very clean. Cannot recommend Esans hotel enough, can't wait to go back!

I am sure there are many fine places to stay in Istanbul, and the Esans Hotel is certainly one of them. From the moment we walked in without a booking, it was clear that the staff here really look after their guests and give them exceptional help and service. It was a pity we could only stay here for two nights.
We were given a lovely 'superior' room 302 facing south towards the Sea of Mamara and loved every minute of our short stay. The room was beautifully decorated with a quirky style (and wallpaper), and had some lovely personal touches which only an exceptional hotelier would think of. As a newcomer to the Istanbul Hotel scene, the Esans Hotel seems to be making a fantastic effort to impress - the rooms have been carefully and tastefully decorated
The location is pretty good, on the quiet side of Sultanahmet and near the mean sights as well as some fine places to eat, drink and sit around. The hotel is on a quiet corner down the hill from the Ayasofia. Occasionally you can hear the sound of the big ship horns heading into the Straits, and of course the call to prayer, that reminds you where you are, though these should certainly not an obstacle to a wonderful night's sleep.
It is clear that this relative newcomer to the Istanbul Hotel scene are very keen to build a good reputation and all their staff share this vision. being more than helpful when required, and friendly throughout. You will be unlikely to get such personal and kind service in a bigger hotel - this place clearly deserves the fine ratings it receives, and will do everything to make sure that it keeps the fine reputation it seems to have already.
If you appreciate the good things in life, this must represent very good value for money, and I would happily recommend this place to anyone as a base for exploring the Sultanahmet district and beyond.

Room Tip: The superior room 302 is worth the extra few euros, being higher up and benefiting from a bit more s...
