My favourite hotel in Jerusalem. It's beautiful. The historical references take you back to other interesting periods. In summer, the pool is clean & a great way to unwind. The staff are attentive & thoughtful, food delicious - an all round enjoyable hotel for business or leisure.

Stayed: August 2015, travelled on business

It was great to be back in The American Colony and see new improvements in place. The couryard has now trees that gives excellent shade during hot summerdays. The new Pasha room and the hall outside have been renovated with style. The staff all over are more than friendly and professional, The food has has never been better.
We have hade wonderful days here again.

My second stay was with my parents and seen with rosier tinted lenses.
Bell man, restaurant and spa staff were gracious and charming, however,........
and my only criticism..... some reception workers still seriously need to work on their charm. Less severe and more genuinely welcoming perhaps? Ocassional smile?
Suite was luxurious and we were loathed to leave...simply fabulous.
Wonderful breakfast.
Charmimg colonial style buildings and English country gardens.
Fabluous pool.
Interesting guest watching..yes I admit this is a consideration for me.
Think I shall re-re-visit...

Room Tip: Suite - farmhouse I think.......

Nothing on earth can compare with the American Colony experience. The intrigue extends from it's non-descript setting to it's more than first class service and surroundings. The rooms are immaculate and the service punctual and pleasant. Our favorites are eating (drinking) in the outdoor bar area and enjoying breakfast au fresco in the morning. We'll be back!

Old colonial style. Courtyard dining area is very romantic at night with well spaced tables positioned amongst the trees. Room clean and comfortable with well stocked fridge. One of the few places in Jerusalem where you can have bacon and eggs for breakfast.
