The Good:
+excellent space divided between two buildings and a public space(small park) between them, make for a very beutiful and atmospheric area.
+enough to see over a few hours.
+local and regional artists represented.

The Bad
-they close TWO days a week, one of them being Friday when the public can actually visit.
-on two occasions i have arrived at 4pm and found either closed doors or staff telling me that they had closed.
-when you finally managed to visit, the buildings were abandoned of any staff, there was literally no one except for my friends and two other visitors.

I live in Jordan and sadly this work scheduling is common behaviour among "public" buildings, its sad as it alienates locals who don't have the time to visit.

No taxi driver knew the National Gallery of Contemporary Art or of Fine Arts! It was wonderful to find and to visit the beautifully set up galleries, with modern use of heritage buildings, and interesting contemporary works, some abstract others not, by Middle-Eastern or Asian artists. Admittedly there is little information about the artists. However, it was a real pleasure to experience art alive and well among the many historical sites Jordan has to offer.
To get there we went to King Abdullah Ist mosque, then followed the brown signage.

Art has the benefit to refresh your mind, so I can say that I felt more relaxed after I spent an hour here. They have a nice library with many interesting books.
