I was to stay for about 6 hours in this hotel while traveling from Delhi to Amaan as transit passenger. As per Kuwait airways ticketing provisions, anyone who has a wait period of more than 8 hours for connecting flight, is entitled for stay with meals at Kuwait Safir Airport Hotel.
I was very scared as most of the reviews written for transit experience were bad for Kuwait Airport & Safir Hotel.
However, to my surprise, everything went on smoothly. Within 1/2 hr of landing, Kuwait Airways staff (Mr Mohammad) professionally & efficiently transferred all passengers to Hotel Safir located inside Kuwait Airport.
For the benefit of all, Kuwait airways transit lounge is located inside boarding gate no 22. For other airlines, transit desk is beside chocolate shop duty free counters.
Check-in at Safir was smooth & despite breakfast time being over, tea/coffee was offered to everyone. Hotel rooms & washrooms are small but neat & tidy. Linen was clean & basic toiletries were in place. The only thing missing is tea-coffee maker as this has become a standard of all such hotels.
Restaurant is spacious & offers reasonably good food with better variety for non-vegetarians.
Overall, much better than expected.More
