I liked this place for stay. The breakfast is a bit of odd and only continental items. Only 1-2 items are there but that too cold. Otherwise, Wifi is good. Channels can be there. I didnt realize the pool and came to know last minute. Didnt use that facility. Very near to commercial road and Waqf and hence nice timepass.

While the hotel is nice, well kept and clean, I had a terrible experience because the hotel staff could not find my reservation. I booked the hotel through the World Travel agency which provided me with a confirmation number. Upon checking in to the hotel I was asked to wait in the lobby. I sat there for around an hour while the hotel manager and check in clerk made several phone calls and were unable to find the reservation. After asking several times if they could just check me into a room, they finally relented and stated it is their hotel policy not to check the guest in if they cannot locate the reservation. This is simply, in my opinion, a terrible policy if rooms are available. They can check the guest in and then take all the time they need to do research on the reservation. A guest should not have to wait in the lobby for over an hour while they try to figure it out. This saga continued as I received no less than three phone calls in my hotel room asking me to verify information on the reservation sheet handed to them upon check-in.

The hotel is nice, clean, with no issues other than the above policy and how they treat their guests.

The location is near the souq and is a five minute walk away.

Lovely hotel close to souq. Surrounding blocks due to be knocked down for redevelopment but in a strange way this added to the charm.
Great staff and nice facilities ( except there was no room for lounging around the pool).
It was a little colonial in atmosphere perhaps but I liked it.

Stayed at the Royal Qatar Hotel on a recent business trip to Doha. The hotel was very comfortable, nice friendly staff and good value for money. From the hotel easy access to other parts of the city, although the traffic can be really bad at times. Don't be put off by the surrounding area which is very run down but worth wandering around the backstreets just to see all the different trades.
