The Royal Regency (Rotary) hotel
In the first instance this hotel does not have an extensive website and the pictures it does have are very staged and poor.
This hotel was chosen and booked for me by a third party. The rooms are more like studios, which have a kitchen, although this is stretching it somewhat! They have a 4 ring gas and electric hob, but the gas is not connected, so you have one electric ring to use. Not much good for cooking multiple items! There is a fridge, which seems to work fine and a washing machine. The sink is fine and the dishes and cutlery are ok. You will have to provide washing up liquid and cloths as well as any detergent for the washing machine.
The room is quite large and the bed is very comfortable. The pillows are a little hard, but ok. The bathroom has a large sink and mirror with a very powerful shower. The bathroom is a little small but works if you are on your own. They have very old CRT TV’s in the room, which, in my opinion, need updating, but then there is not a great choice of channels in English to view. I was staying in room 104 and this is adjacent to the general manager’s office and he smokes like a trooper and unfortunately this drifted into my room underneath my door. The whole hotel is Fairley Smokey, but this is the norm for Abu Dhabi. The general manager liked to keep his door open and he must have some kind of birds in there, as they make a fair bit of noise during the day. Fortunately I only heard this once, as most of the time spent in my room was in the late evening.
The room was cleaned daily and the room always smelt nice and fresh, apart from the bathroom, which had a slight damp smell.
The parking in Abu Dhabi is crazy. There isn’t much chance to get parked in front of the hotel, but there is ample parking in the underground car park situated about 100m away. It’s AED15 for up to 14-24 hours, cheaper for less. This works out about £2.80.
There are many food shops around, but in the main its fast food. The fast food is cheaper, in most instances, rather than going to a local coop or Baquala, although you can get your fresh fruit and vegetables from them, including fresh milk.
The hotel is about a 2 minute walk to the WTC Abu Dhabi Mall. Here you will find a Spinneys supermarket on the ground floor. It’s not very big, but has a lot of items stocked from the Waitrose range, but bear in mind anything imported is expensive. On the main high road, there is a supermarket called Lu Lu express. This is cheap and where a lot of the locals buy their shopping.
Many of the half decent restaurants are in the WTC Abu Dhabi Mall and are on the third floor. Everything from Lebanese to Burgers, pizza, Mexican, Italian, and sandwiches.
The star cafeteria, which is a little fast food outlet, which is awesome. Looks nothing from the outside and not much to look at inside but the food is great and cheap.

Room Tip: Rooms above the first floor.

I was staying in this hotel apartment from Sep 2013. Good value for money. Staff are very co-operative. Hadn't been to the restaurant. Fitness center is good. Internet used to be bad till couple of weeks back. Not the internet is upgraded to high speed.
Kitchenette provided is not sufficient and the choice of TV channels is very poor.

Room Tip: Prefer Suite room than studio room

Nice hotel, friendly staff, well maintained.
Recommended for long stays. Call and check with them for the long stay prices, which are very competitive for similar priced hotel apartments.
The gas stoves does not work, but the induction stove does.

Good location and nice place to stay if you are going for short stay or city trip value for money somehow reasonable also.

The price decreased one week before going I was already booked with higher rate prices should be fixed and not changed I lost my room keys and asked for another one I wait around 45 mins to receive another key.
