If you want to feel “adventurous” inside a hand-made shaft, made of recycled wood panels and old furniture, this is the place for you. I’m not of the kind so I will not stay there again. As the name suggests, this is an old house where very thin staircases lead up to the roof where two small rooms have been added. The one I first stayed had parts of the ceiling that were so low that I had to walk bending all the time, for fear of bumping my head. Walls are so thin that you can hear anyone showering, brushing their teeth or snoring. The bathroom in the upper floor room is equipped with an “integrated” but very uncomfortable WC and lavabo, and shower is “hot” only if nobody else has already taken one, so get up and shower at 5:00 AM. If somebody else is using the water you will notice it immediately when the flow gets scarce. Power goes of at the minute you need it more, and it means no more internet connectivity, of course. One the bright side, staff and owner are very nice, almost apologetic all the time. They know the hotel is still to be made. It's cheap, yes, In every sense of the word.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Casa Rústica Bogotá is a restored house located in the historical district of Quinta Camacho. The financial district on Avenida Chile and the Zona G(Gourmet) are both only two blocks away. The house has been furnished to imitate the local lifestyle of the ´50s and ´60s. To a great extent the house has been restored with reclaimed materials in keeping with the spirit of ecofriendly behavior. There is also a rainwater filtration system for watering plants and for washing the floors as well as an herb garden that uses recycled objects as flower pots, among other ecofriendly features. We are not only ecofriendly but also pet friendly and are therefore also willing to lodge small pets prior fulfillment of certain sanitary requirements. We consider that one of the best compliments we can receive from our guests is that returning to Casa Rústica Bogotá after a trip elsewhere or after having found permanent lodging in the city, is like coming back home. This, since we consider that Casa Rústica Bogotá is like a home far away from home. ... more less
