my first room look like an employees quarters. too warm and too old, they change it as the repair man request, the second room is nice but nothing a complimentary stuff, the employee was so nice to me but, they don't have a specific procedure regarding check in check out, firts they said its okay to check out by 1pm then in the morning they said i need to check out by 12, and a third one they want me to check out by 11pm. crazy right....

Room Tip: try the room in the second floor and adjust the A/C cause it's too warm the room

Family of 2 adults and 3 young children stayed one night due to flight disruption. Assigned two rooms by the pool, one was a standard with a ~queen (two singles pushed together) and one single; the other was an apartment style with a king size bed, a fold-out couch with small kitchenette and dining table.

Accommodation was ok but we didn't find the bathrooms to be very clean i.e. the hand basins had marks from recent previous use, there was mould buildup in places, the shower tap fitting were coming loose and the toilet kept running.

We turned off the air-conditioning and it was still very cold in the large room.

The TV remote in one room did not match the TV. Didn't bother asking for a working one as it was only one night.

Staff service was good. They assisted with transporting our luggage, which was necessary as there weren't any lifts.

Airport shuttle was also good - it's located less than 5 minutes from the international and domestic airport, so it's great for transiting between flights. They could use a net to help secure baggage in the bus though, as some of it started falling forward onto the heads of some passengers.

Overall it was a satisfactory stay. The bathrooms just really need a good clean and service.

The rooms and building are showing their age but I love to stay there, its peaceful, convenient and the staff there are awesome. Have been staying there for weekends to catch up on work or relax. The beds are very comfortable, I always have a good nights sleep whenever I'm there on the weekends or taking an early morning flight out. The rooms with the balcony towards the main road are the best. if you're a smoker, you'll love those rooms. Oh and as a guest, you get to use free wifi during your stay. A plus I'd say :)

The rooms are starting to show their age, but overall I had a pleasant stay and would probably stay again. I stayed twice, two days apart and with the location close to the airport it is only a five minutes drive, great if you are transiting.

The staff are all excellent, efficient and very friendly and really make you feel at home.

The bed was comfortable and I slept well, but the showers are really in need of repair or replacement.

On the second stay I was allocated a room in the 100 series and you should avoid these rooms as they open onto the outside dining area and swimming pool and were quite noisy.

Airways was full so I stayed here prior to heading up to a gold mining site in the mountains. The stay started badly when I had been told there would be a Gateways employee holding a sign at international arrivals and would drive me to the hotel, yet there was no person, no sign and no transportation. Being familiar with how generally unreliable things are in PNG, I had a phone number to call. It didn't work (and when I later explained this to the hotel manager, all he could say was 'it should have')

The room was fine - windows slid open to a terrace overlooking pool which was very nice but the room was old and worn, especially the bathroom which was small, basic and not very clean.

The place does have a gym nearby the hotel but it smells nasty and while there is all the equipment one needs, it is very old (Airways gym is modern and well maintained)

Airways for me next time and I'll book farther in advance to make sure of it.
