I know this hotel had some good reviews and that is why we stayed there, however we were extremely disappointed with it. The hotel reception booking agent Mohammed confirmed with me a week before arrival, about price, availability etc etc. The night before we traveled i rang Cairo again and was told the room we wanted was now not available!!!!! Still we traveled up from Hurghada and paid a little extra money for our 3 night stay in the same hotel, BIG MISTAKE, it was noisy with the staff and everyone banging doors and sliding furniture around at all hours, the dining area was not fully functional in the garden restaurant, breakfast was bland and no variety 1 small omelette and two small bread rolls, tea and coffee was 62 LE!!!!!, not even normal bread and a toaster were there!!!! The staff entered our room whilst we were out even though we had the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door!!!!! If you book a room on the back beware it will be dismal with a terrible view of the filthy rooftops in the adjacent streets not nice at all, the view from front is better but would be very noisy, more so than the back and that was bad enough. We stayed 2 nights, cutting short our stay as we couldn`t stand the noise and disturbances for a 3rd night. The hotel is a long way from most sightseeing places, be aware of this before booking this hotel (at your own peril) we live in Egypt and we know what is good and what`s bad, so believe this old English guy when he tells you to stay away, most taxis have tampered meters. The normal cost is 2.50LE plus around 1.5 LE per kilometer, ie: 20 KI LOMETERS = 28-32LE so also beware of the cost and always ask them to use the meter, after 1 kilo the meter should read around 3.5 -4 LE f any higher say stop the cab and just get out, making him aware that you know the meter is dodgy!!!! In conclusion, FIND A BETTER PLACE TO STAY!!!!!!! contact me for more info with pleasure!!!!

Room tip: Rooms on back and front are noisy

Right on the Nile with a good view. Arrived at night collected by Mohammed the hotel driver and guide. Hotel very dated to the 40- 50's in decor but very clean. Rooms basic old furniture but
adequate. Staff very friendly.
Arranged trip to pyramids with Mohammed the driver who took care of everything - recommend if you want to get around Cairo ask for him as he was great nothing to much trouble.
Great value and a real experience.

Wake up to Nile flowing past your balcony, the decor dates back to 50s but clean and your made to feel welcome. If your going to see the pyrimids leave yourself in the capable hands of Mohamoud the hotels own guide/driver,a bit different to the coach tours!!! Gives you a small taste of the real Cairo...

Room tip: Get up high at the front of the hotel for a great view of the Nile.

The hotel is right on the Nile and close to shop and restaurants. The decor is a bit dated but the hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and very helpful. The food from the hotel restaurant is tasty and very reasonably priced. Overall great value.

I stayed for around a month on a business trip. When I first entered I was hesitant due to the old furniture and not very welcome atmosphere. However I was on a strict budget. Later on, what made me stick in is the great hospitality from the staff, they will do their best to help you out.
There are different types of rooms with different price range, when you reserve ask the reception to take a look at the rooms and choose which suits you.

WiFi is only available at the lobby, where there is also a printer and a scanner to be used on a fee per page.

To save money, there is a small store right next to the hotel's entrance to buy water and snacks.

Room tip: Ask for rooms on the nile river, the view is great.
