We stayed here for 5 nights. We are truly grateful for the hospitality that we received from the whole family. From Mr Amin for arranging our day trips and answering our queries; for Mohammad for providing us breakfast and being our driver; for Israa and Alaa for arranging my husband birthday party . Aswan and our experience here truly made our 17 days trip in Egypt memorable. We are planning to go back and definitely will stay here again.

On Elephantine Island in Aswan right next to the people’s ferry is this welcoming house. Maybe a little harsh on the eye, painted in bright blue! Here is accommodation in a location that is very hard to beat for the price.
At a cost of approximately £38 per night for the apartment that will sleep four, do not expect much.
The beds are comfortable enough and there are ceiling fans in each room. These are adequate for End October but not sufficient in the summer. There are air conditioning units in the bedrooms but there are no remote controls and I don’t know if the work.
The kitchen facility is a waste of space because there is no cutlery or plates or pans. There is only a kettle and a few cups. There is a large fridge.
The bathroom.... well it’s compact!!! You can wash in the shower and sit on the loo at the same time.... it’s so small.
Their idea of soap and shampoo etc.... best bring your own.
Having said all of that it really is in a great position.
Take the peoples ferry for EGP5 from KFC and El Amin is right where the ferry brings you.
With a bit of sound advice and few amendments this place could be made significantly better although I get the impression that Egyptians don’t like spending money on improvements.
