We came back here hoping that the recent changes hadn’t made too much difference to the Palace Wing of the hotel. From the moment we were dropped off by our transport got on the golf-cart to go to the hotel, we were under their care. Check-in was simple and achieved by a signature on a pre-prepared sheet whilst sitting in the bar area having a complimentary drink. We were taken to our Nile View Room in the palace wing by a young lady from ‘Guest Relations’ who explained everything as we went, the room being a mixture of high-end electrical equipment and classical furniture Bathroom has a walk-in-shower room, separate WC room, large bath and ‘his & hers’ sinks. ‘Do not disturb’ and ‘clean my room’ was via a red & green light system at the bedside, which was repeated outside the door Laundry was, as always, excellent and speedy We opted for the excellent Room-Service breakfast to take advantage of the Nile View balcony We will write separate reviews for the 1902 Restaurant & The Terrace High Tea We used the spa facility twice. It may seem odd going for swim and then alternating between a steam room and a chill-out room a few times but it worked.
