This hotel is legendary! A breathtaking view. Top level professional service with great hospitality and service. Staff are extremely professional and friendly it feels like you have your own private butler. Nothing beats the view from the luxurious rooms.

Rooms are superb in cleanliness and luxury. You have a nespresso machine and kettle in each room and a walk in closet and marble bathroom and all the amenities you can think of. All rooms have amazing balconies overlooking the nile.

The spa is a very luxurious one with an indoor pool and a steam room. The outdoor pool is beautiful overlooking the nile. They have a beautiful library lounge where you can read a lovely collection of books and check them out while you are at the hotel.

If you need to recharge and unwind while visiting Philae Temple and enjoy a sound and light show then this is the place for you.

Due to quiet times in Egypt we were upgraded to a beautiful suite in the new block with breathtaking views onto the Nile and across to Elephantine Island and the ruined temple there. The suite was immaculate - like a little apartment! Beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly want. The bathroom was bigger than most people's lounges, probably!

The staff there are just wonderful - nothing is too much trouble. The food is brilliant too.

All in all, don't miss it. You can walk to the Nubian Museum in about three minutes - well worth a visit.

We went to Legend Old Cataract hoping it would live up to the expectations we built based on reviews from our friends and family whove been there. But after staying there for a period of 5 days all I can say that our stay was exceptionally exceptional. This is what a dream relaxation vacation is made of. We booked our rooms in the nile view building and after being warmly welcomed by "Nesma" and "Ragab", we were amazed by how astonishing the view was. Not to mention the beautifully designed and exquisitely furnished suites. But waking up early in the morning and stepping out to the balcony only to see the Nile give birth to the sun in unforgettable scenery every morning is a memory we will hold dearly. All that apart, nothing came close to excellence as did the food and beverage team captained by "Mr. Ibrahim Khalil" and "Mr. Nagy". Whether if we're talking about the Kababgy restaurant team the likes of "Mr. Ahmed" and "Mostafa", the Saraya restaurant's terrace crew such as "Mostafa, Mostafa, Hussein, Mohamed, Ashraf" and everybody else. As for the "1902" restaurant with it's unique charm and magnificence "Elia's" "Samah's" and "Mansour's" and the Super Chef knowledge and hospitality compliment such outstanding experience. You really are booking a vacation in which you are treated as royalty. Without any exaggeration, I can easily say that not a single moment throughout the whole stay ever made me even think of complaining or expressing concern. Rather, everything was marvellous. Legend Old Cataract is not about its location, its ranking, its variety of food, and not even about its facilities which happen to include one of the top spas in Egypt. It is about its people. The truly warmhearted artists behind such a breathtaking experience.
