with heart worming employees and built on such a serene location. AA lodge is surely a Gem in the Mara.. i have recommended it to friends. the rooms are clean, food is delicious, hot water is available. i also enjoyed the swimming pool. the huge windows also serve a great deal if you want to catch the sunrise without having to go outside

Room Tip: cottages are ideal

The staff are some of the best people I've come across lately, super helpful and friendly...
Now to the bad parts, they have gorgeous cottages but they seem neglected and not well cleaned, there was no wi-fi, the food was not that good, there was no hot water in the showers, there were Chinese groups could get a bit loud especially before day break... Needs lots of improvement.

- no view like in authentic lodges
+ most staff is kind and helpful
- - - diner not fresh and 1 day cold: no warming under cooking pot, broken lamps on very dark path to cottage, no wifi at promised time, some Chinese guests spit on steps at restaurant.
A lot of things had to be fixed: umbrella and chair at dirty swimming pool and much more.

Read some bad reviews about this hotel before we went there and we were skleptical. However we stayed there 3 nights from 3.9.17 to 5.9.17. IT was good food, comfortable rooms and all facilities were really good. Had no bad experience. the kitchen and reception staff were very friendly.

Room Tip: Book in advance, May be in March if you plan to travel in September.

The place may not be the best in Masai Mara But it was good. What I liked most is the effort made by the Chef and the waiters to make us feel comfortable . Even though the cuisine and the facility largely caters to European and Chinese visitors, the Chef ( Bernard) made special attempts to cook some "Indian Vegetarian" food .

Separately what made our trip memorable was the extraordinary service orientation by our driver cum tour guide Francis . He is very good . Helpful yet non intrusive . Knows where to find the animals and ensures that you get to see the best during safari . Would recommend Francis to any family who want a reliable driver cum guide bat Masai Mara.
