It's a bit expensive for general visit as you have to spend 500 RMB for watching show followed by serving traditional Chinese tea. But if you are looking for classical look. This place is worth for you.

Overpriced Ticket entrance: 180¥ the cheapest and you have to book in advance. Tea was disgusting, snacks consisted only in few candies and sunflower seeds. The show itself was average, although I think some of the acts were not purely traditional Chinese (a magician act), the others were amazing. Location is good though, just behind Tiananmen Square.
I don't recommend coming here.

BE WARNED!

Tea houses are well known for being VERY overpriced - This one takes out the all time insane record! Before you agree to buy anything MAKE SURE you see and add up the price of the tea!

The place itself is "cute" in a way - But we made a prompt exit as soon as we saw the tea menu. I would recommend the massive shopping around the area before wasting time coming to a place who's only claim to fame is a few important visitors...

I kid you not!
This is in the tea house.
I think the pricing is different in the theatre area.
We went into the tea house area and luckily saw the price before ordering. Some cups of tea were $1,000
The cheapest is $16
Beware before you buy.

Nice place to look around though as they have some lovely models showing what an old tea house would have looked like.

I went on a business trip. Dinner was good and after dinner we went upstairs for the Chinese Opera. During dinner there was a great puppet show.
