the location while not far away from the main attractions was for some reason almost unknown to taxi drivers. even the hotel card with map caused confusion & it was always an issue.
Do not take up the breakfast it is at 20RMB (bit over US$2) a tempting offer but the assortment was almost zero, just eggs & the usual rice. Most people did not bother & after the first day i also did not. At least the unused breakfasts were credited & the overall cost for the stay was very economical.

Hotel located conveniently close to the subway station, close to center also by taxi.
Hotel seems clean, but stains remain in the rooms (in our room - on the door, walls and curtains there were some stains that were not removed for unknown reason). Otherwise the room, linens and bathroom very clean!
Good breakfast, although not too rich. Coffee, tosts and some other western breakfast items available.
Staff was very friendly, and tried their best to speak English, which was poor for the help needed (e.g., did not understand about the sweater not returned from the laundry, could not call a taxi for us etc.) But otherwise the usual business was done well.

Location of hotel is much better than expected.

Lots of food (nifty street-kitchens as well as eateries & restaurants) just down Sanlitun Nan Lu. Shopping centres are within light walking distance. Only slight turn-off might be the pollution that is prevalent in BJ.

Even if one should choose to use the superb public bus system (but you'll have to be able to read some Chinese to do this), there are buses that go just about anywhere. I managed to take the 126 (turn left when exiting hotel) to Qian Men, Tiananmen, main city thoroughfare for all of CNY1! Frankly, aside fm Tiananmen etc, the overworked main shopping drag isn't a major attraction. The areas around the hotel and other traditional hutongs are more interesting.

Bus #420 takes you directly to Beijing Zhan if you need to go to the railway station to catch the Shanghai-bound train.

Bus #28 takes you to Panjiayuan (antiques/flea market).

Decent sized, clean hotel room with basic amenities.

Front Office Supervisor Emma was very helpful. Pity that, aside from Emma, the other staff spoke hardly any English, or were too afraid to try beyond the absolute basic. Nonetheless, I managed to get the info I needed, only because I spoke Mandarin.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for its value, quality & location.

Whilst conveniently placed, about a mile from Subway station it requires some improvement in service and state of repair. Room I was given smelt of old dump and has not been kept very clean. Bed linen wasn't changed over 4 days I stayed there, nor was bathroom cleaned. "Breakfast" wasn't worth a penny, fortunately there was a good old McDonnald nearby that served breakfast for half the price of hotel's. This hotel is well below standard of other Ibis hotels I stayed in during my visit to China - Xi'an and Shanghai ones were ten times better. Additionally, I would strongly recommend that Ibis invest some money in improving language skills of their staff.
