I stayed here with a colleague for 2 weeks - on business. The hotel was recommended by the client as it was close to the office that we were visiting each day. It was conveniently situated for work, but as we were here for so long, we could have been anywhere (except you know you're in Beijing because of the smog). Anyway, when we visit again, we definitely won't be staying here and will stay in the centre and get the subway to the office instead.
We booked rooms on the business floor as we needed to work most evenings. The business suite was shut and we weren't advised of this until we arrived. It was a major factor in selecting this hotel, as well as proximity to client office.
The air conditioning was a major draw back as most days it was 27C - in the winter. The staff opened our windows, provided a fan and a humidifier, but really not a satisfactory situation for a major hotel in a major city.
The staff do not speak English, so all in all the hotel is not suitable for Westerners and more for Chinese. Getting a taxi is a challenge, but staff always very helpful in trying to flag local taxis for us.More
