Have heard about this restaurant for some time and read numerous rave reviews about it, so were really excited to give it a try. We're real foodies and were looking forward to something new and exciting. The "industrial" interior was gorgeous but this look is getting -way- overdone in Hong Kong now. The staff were very attentive and helpful. But unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to all the 5 star reviews and the hype. The disappointment started when we discovered they only had two, completely unknown vodkas and no premium brands like Grey Goose or Belvedere. The bread was nice but the two unique herb butters were so-so. The smoked eggplant starter was visually interesting, but the blue cheese, walnut and eggplant combination just didn't do anything for us. The scallops were a serious disappointment. They were completely smothered in a not pleasant tasting shiso, sake, yuzu and miso butter. The mixture was like burnt breadcrumbs which completely overpowered and overwhelmed the taste of the delicate Hokkaido scallops. For the main we ordered the half portion of lamb rack because most of the interesting main dishes are huge and meant for several people or groups. There were only two of us so we had to go with the lamb as it was one of the few dishes that came in a smaller portion. The lamb was properly cooked, but had a strange smokey taste and half of the order (see photo) was pure fat. Rhoda is probably better for larger groups where you can order the more interesting specialty dishes and try a wider variety, but unfortunately, despite wanting to find a dish we could love and that matched the decor and service, it wasn't meant to be. Much better options in Sai Ying Pun or Kennedy Town.
