Hotel is located less than 10 minutes walk from nearest MTR stop, locating at hong kong island,
near are some buss stops too, hotel staff was very friendly, and all worked fine.
very near were also place to get breakfast and evening snacks, there was no possible to eat at hotel, but that was not needed, cleaning worked like a charm.
Room had tv, but no coffee or tea making equipment, but not needed.

hotel price was good, prepare to reserve room early enough, some reserve service give you free cancellation.

Room, located at the 15th floor, but it does not have floors 13 and 14th marked to the elevator ( curious Chinese way, heard that is something to do with superstitious believe ), was clean and had own bathroom, but it was quite small, my room was for only one person, and had no cabins at all, well there was no room for such, for 5 to 6 nights, its ok but longer time i would find / ask bigger room.

i knew that rooms are small there, atthe same level there was only 3 hotel rooms, mine was one from the left side.

it has aircon system that did work but it was LOUD even at the smallest revs, and i could not turn it off as the temp was too warm to me to sleep ( you can turn it off ), there was another so called flaw, that was an sound from another rooms lavatory system, either shower or toilet flush did keep absolutely loud noise if some one used that mid of the night, all that wall was just an meter away from the pillow, so it was not well insulated pipe system.

For me room was ok, it was cheap, clean and in distance of walk from connections, it would been nicer to have bit more space or those sounds quieter, i am not an deep sleeper, well it did suite for my purpose, would i choose that if go there again, probably not, at the same price range there was many other to select, just to do selection early enough.

Room tip: They ask if you need bigger room when booking, if you need.

Good location in sheung wan, near soho bar and restaurant area. Room small but clean and tidy.
Second room ( we were away and returned) was larger and much nicer, think its a deluxe room? The bathroom was fairly clean but surfaces dusty and housekeeping looked a bit rushed.Loo not cleaned.
The main plus is the lovely and friendly staff who are really helpful.
They don't do breakfast anymore which is a real shame. We had to ask for tea making things, as nothing in lobby.
On reflection, good staff, great location, rooms pretty small, value is comparitively ok but no breakfast facility, would have been nice to a have a voucher for cafe next door to hotel.

Location was great, only 7 mins walk from Sheung Wan MTR and 3 mins from tram station. Plenty of bakeries and eateries around. Also many shops selling herbs and medicines. Standard room was nicely decorated and clean but cramped! However we were fine tho bumped with each other several times. Breakfast was sandwich and beverage, delivered to guest's room. Staffs were friendly and helpful. All in all worth to stay.

Room tip: Choose superior room!

Photos on tripadvisor are exactly the same. Rooms are small but very clean and comfortable environment. Staff are very polite and professional. Location is 5-10 min away from sheung wan mtr station. If staying in HK for 1-2 nights, this location is consider convenient as it is near shopping area like casuseway bay.

Sohotel is really just so-so, the only thing I am impressed are the hotel front desk staff which is always polite and helpful. Considering the amount I pay for this hotel which is cheaper than regular HK hotel price, I really shouldn't complain.

Pros:
- very polite and helpful staff
- convenient location, only 5 min walk to MTR station
- bathroom relatively spacious (although still small), considering how small the room is as I have seen even smaller bathrooms in HK
- cheap
- does have all the necessary amenities such as shower cap, toothbrush with colgate tooth paste, slippers, towers, etc

Cons:
- super tiny room
- not very clean
- rooms and furniture pretty dated, although hotel only opened for 3 years
- guests in the room next to me was secretly smoking which caused my room to smell as well

Overall for this price I think it's worth the money because you can get worse. If you want something cheap, convenient, and don't really care that much about quality of your room this is your choice
