The Bauhinia Hotel - Central

Stayed in this hotel with family on a pleasure trip to HK and Macau.

1) Location, location, location: for the first time visitor, (for the price) it's an absolute gem. really near the Sheung Wan MTR (by near I mean 20-30 feet away) and it's across the HK-Macau Ferry. it's also next to a department store and a lot of dining options nearby. It's a short uphill walk to Wellington st where there are a lot of dining and nightlife options

2) The room: We booked a deluxe plus room and the room was very large and from the look of things newly renovated.

1) As I said in the title, RUDE STAFF: I've stayed in a few hotels in my life but this is the first hotel where the hotel staff were just RUDE. Most especially the woman in the front desk who was on duty at night and sometimes in the morning. She was downright mean. She would cut you off mid-sentence when being talked to. She would always take every request I made and sigh and give this pained look whenever anyone of family spoke to her. She would shout over the telephone and whenever we saw her in the lobby, she would be on her phone playing a game .She was the one dark spot in our holiday. She should really consider working in a less customer oriented profession. The other hotel staff were simply just uninterested and very mechanical

we booked our rooms at a steal so if the price is right and you're looking to save but still have a decent place to sleep and have access to public transport then do book here. but keep in mind, compared to the other options out there you might be better off if you're used to more service oriented hotels throughout asia

Room Tip: ask for a room next to the elevator

Location is great. Fastest way from Cheung Wan Station, take exit B. Once you are out, in front (across the street) you will see Starbucks. Turn left and in the 2nd intersection (corner) is a bank and turn left as the entrance door of the hotel is just after that bank (this is about 2-3 min walk from the exit B).
This hotel is surrounded by fast-food stores, malls, shops, groceries, etc.
Hotel is Near mtr station, bus stops, taxi stand and even tram station.
Lan Kwai Fong (shopping, dining, and bars) is like 20-25 min walk. I don’t mind walking because of all the shops along the way.
The room is big with Queen bed. Quarter of the room area is the bathroom hahaha. Really, the bath room is big.
Breakfast is not much. They provide assorted bread, fruit juices, coffee, tea, some fruits… It’s free.Free wifi. Great service too.
For me, this hotel is good value for money!

Stayed here during a 22 hour lay over from Fiji to the UK. Used it as a base camp to explore HK. Excellent location, friendly staff.

Free to use wifi. Free breakfast in the morning. Large bedroom and bathroom. Right next to one of the metro stations which is great to get to the airport from.

If I ever return to HK. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our first time visting Hong Kong, and were were staying just 1-night on a lay-over returning home from Australia.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, and amenities were sufficient. Shower was very nice, and the toiletries offered were very good.

There was free wi-fi in the rooms.

As I mentioned, the king-size bed was huge and we slept very well. The hotel is situated in a good area for sight-seeing, and we were able to walk to the ferries, and there was a tram stop and metro stop nearby, however we didn't use them.

We travelled to/from the airport by bus, as the a11bus from the airport stopped close-by (especially on the way back to the airport).

One drawback, which isnt the hotel's fault, is the only way across the busy street is the walkways, and none of them seem to have lifts, so very difficult with big luggage to get up and down all the steps !!

We had breakfast nearby in Starbucks, but as mentioned nowhere much to eat in the evening near to hotel.

The hotel were happy to hold on to our luggage f.o.c. as we werent flying out till late in the evening
