This hotel is locate at Sheung Wan. Just middle of two metro station, Sheung Wan and Sai Ying Pun. We try walk from Sheung Wan station to hotel. But there are many small lane and easy to lost way. Suggest get down at Sai Ying Pun. Take elevator from A1 exit, turn LEFT, you will reach Des Voeux Rd West. And turn right, you arrive hotel. You can find supermarket, restaurant, tram and bus station here.

We book deluxe twin and get FREE upgrade to suit type B. There are free wifi, microwave, kettle, heater and hair dryer in room. Washing machine, gym locate level 2. Good quality with reasonable price. We will stay here again in the future.

What a great budget hotel in up and coming Sheung Wan.

The hotel is 5 mins walk to both Sheung Wan station and Sai Yin Pun stations. Also tram stop right out the front of the hotel so a real treat for a tram buff to see double decker trams rolling past the big windows of the hotel room with very little noise from the road.

The hotel is on dried seafood street, which takes a quick walk to get used to it but once we had walked the street, we felt at home in no time at all.

We used the free hotel shuttle service from Hong Kong station, jumped on the H1 bus and jumped off at stop 3 (Ibis Hotel), try not to get confused with stop 2 (iclub). 60 west hotel is only 60 meters away from the ibis hotel. There is staff at the station that will guide you on to the right courtesy bus, you only need your airport express ticket or octopus card as proof but they usually don't ask for this.

Tips: drink a Melbourne quality flat white at The cupping room, it's a little pricey at $40 HK per cup but it's worth it. (short walk from hotel)

To my knowledge 60 West hotel doesn't have breakfast or a mini bar but there is a welcome supermarket 3 doors down with a good ATM out front to use global travel cards etc...

The gym in the hotel is ok, a little small but enough, you can also wash your clothes at the hotel laundry room for about $7.00.

Also we found the Wifi - really good!

Enjoyed our stay, second time now - look forward to stay number 3.

Thank you to the 60West hotel for a fabulous stay.

I read up about this hotel on trip advisor and I saw not so good comments of guests who stayed here so I wasn't expecting much. We checked in past 7PM and greeted by a young woman at the reception. We gave HKD500 for a security deposit (which is kinda ridiculous because the room we got even cost less). We were given the 5th floor and ushered into the elevator. I'm glad the lift were both working as some guests say one was not on their stay respectively. The elevator was a bit creaky but it didn't take too long to get to the 5th floor. We opened the door to a medium-sized room. I immediately checked the linens and towels to made sure everything was clean and they were. The shower was hot too. Not unlike other hot showers that's just has warm water. I would recommend this hotel to people looking for budget hotels.

How to get there from airport: Ride the A11 bus. It cost HKD40 for 1 ticket. I would suggest getting an octopus card inside before going down to the bus waiting area so you don't have to fall inline on the ticket booth. The card cost HKD150 with the 50 as the card deposit and you will be left with 100 spending money. This can be used on trains too. Get off at the 4th stop, on the Hongkong-Macau ferry terminal. I would like to clarify that airport buses don't stop in front of the hotel. The route of the airport bus is one block from where the hotel is and it only stops on the ferry terminal. When you get off the bus, you will see the overpass. Cross it all the way to the other side and go go up from where you come from except you are now walking one block across. Just follow the tram lines and you will know you are close if you see Starbucks and HSBC. Just a few feet from HSBC, you will then see the sign of 60 West. Hope you will have a nice stay.

My feelings toward 60 West Hotel are very mixed.

The good thing is definitely the extremely friendly and helpful front desk staff.

But there is also some pretty bad stuff related to infrastructure:

The elevators are terrible. They need way to long to get from one floor to the next and every second or third day, one out of only two is out of service. Since two elevators are not nearly enough, you often wait 5 minutes just to get into the elevator. What is even more annoying is that you can't take the stairs for walking one floor because this would trigger the fire alarm.

The cleanliness of the room is also very mixed. It looks nice but I had a couple of dirty linen on the bed (thanks to the friendly staff it was changed quickly) and also there are some stains that the staff does not clean although they are easily visible.

Another bad part is the kitchen equipment. You hardly have anything, which makes cooking almost impossible.

While the space is ok in the room, the bed is way to big. I understand it is nice for couples to have a very wide bed, I do not understand why 60 West does not offer single rooms with smaller beds. It simply does not make sense for a bed to occupy 1/3 of the room.

Another problem is the bad noise insulation. You always hear the noisy people on the floor and the people in the next room. What is worse, the TVs are on the wall to the next room, so you hear your neighbor's annoying TV shows all the moment. Yet, when you ask the staff to tell the neighbor to turn down the volume, it usually gets better.

Also the washing machines are in poor condition. You have to pay a lot of many to use them but the laundry does not get very clean and what is worse, there are sometimes new stains on the laundry because the washing machines are old. Even after a couple of complaints, the management has done nothing against it. After that I had to go to laundries because at least 5 shirts and pants have mine have been inevitably destroyed by these useless machines. Of course the management did not offer to compensate me for that although I complained.

Lastly, also the gym is in bad condition. I asked the staff several times to repair different equipment but nothing happened.

This is a new hotel between older buildings in the West on Hong Kong Island. Close to everything, tram stop in front of the hotel as well as buses. Food store is few meters on the same street and suites have fridge, microwaves and kettle to make breakfast or lunch. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay on16th floor with a view at the harbour. They have also gym, laundry facilities and TV room on the second floor.

Room Tip: Good exescibility to city transit and higher floors have nice view.
