Discovery Shores is our first choice when going to Boracay. Boracay has gotten disappointing over the years because of what the local government has done (or not done) to preserve the island but the island's beauty seems to defy the destruction of greed and corruption. Discovery Shores seems to preserve the beautiful Boracay of old -- the quiet relaxation of the beautiful beach during the day and the chill ambience of cocktails at night.
The staff is awesome! Ernest is someone we've known for 9 years and he recognized us too despite greeting millions of guests over the years. The transfer staff are very courteous and helpful. Carlie, the one who welcomed us, seems to have enchanted our daughter as Carlie is the only name she remembers.
We ate at the restaurant for the whole trip and it was ok. Meals can be shared by 2-3 people and sometimes we even had the leftovers heated from previous meals. The free snacks (puto or doughnuts with milk tea and shakes) in between meals helped us save on
The kids love the pool, the beach front with the free use of toys, the staff making lines and spirals on the sand, the kids' activities.
Overall, Boracay is still beautiful, especially if you stay in the wonderful environment of Discovery Shores.More
