Saw some banners advertising a Hockney exhibition until September at STPI so I thought I'd go along.

It's located in Robertson Quay which is a pleasant ten minute stroll along the riverside from Clarke's Quay station.

There are 36 lithographic works by Hockney on display in a pleasantly cool series of rooms.

There were a few examples of his swimming pool themed work and I also liked his colourful works from Hotel Acatlan in 1985 as well as the more recent Four Blue Stools from 2014.

Admission is free and it was most pleasant to browse his work in comfort, rather than with the crowds at the Tate Britain for his recent exhibition in London.

Visited the annual open house this past weekend and got to partake in many interesting activities. From making paper from cotton pulp, to witnessing and trying out the different types of printing methods (eg. lithography, copper plate etching, screen printing) - the whole experience was really fun and engaging, definitely something new to experience in Singapore. The volunteers were very friendly and open to talking about their STPI experience, was nice chatting with some of them. Thought the free beverages and finger food at the cafe/bar area was a nice welcoming touch as well. All in all I had a great time, enjoyed the current exhibition too! #stpiopenhouse2016 #printersjam

STPI had a open house this weekend and it was a great event! Lots of cool workshops catering to a whole range of ages and interests. Situated along Robertson Quay with lots of F&B options available, it would make a great place to visit after a meal, or even as a quick stopover for some culture and air-conditioned respite if you happen to be walking along that stretch of the Singapore river :).

Although I've lived in the area for more than 6 years, today was my first visit to STPI. It's a small gallery but is well structured with some interesting, if slightly unusual, exhibits. Photos of the current exhibition attached here. Worth a look when you're in the area.
