only overnight stop , each way, to and from thailand islands so stayed there on two separate occasions. fist trip chose to get there by mtr rail from airport, just s$3 (£1.50) took about 30 mins excellent experience, on arrival hotel knew who we were before we even said our names. extra bed in room as requested for daughter. lovely friendly staff. room small but adequate for stopover. clean but tired looking. excellently located and we were easily able to explore most of singapores attractions on each occassion of our visit , would stay again for a stop over but probably not for longer periods. good base and confortable sleep.

A 3 star place in Bencoolan St. Nothing flash but clean, rooms small, staff were good, close to all you need in Singapore. A short walk to Little India down the road, a short walk to Buguis area and the metro train station that takes you where you need to go. Probably not easy to find if coming on from the airport by train as a couple of small streets need to be negotiated and Bencoolan St on the Orchard Road end is currently block for road/rail works. (Oct 2012.)
Good breakfast was included and staff there were very obliging. Have stayed in other places nearby at twice the cost so will be back here again.

Room tip: All would be about the same I think.

I've stayed in at least 20 hotels here of differing quality. I usually don't spend too much time in the room but need a good work desk & WiFi. My ideal hotel is the Toyoko Inn chain in Japan (cheap, clean, small, and good sleep). This hotel meets my needs of being very quiet, the bed is good, it has a desk and small 'frig, and a real bathtub. It also has a free breakfast, though it is nothing great. The problem I see is that the rooms need renovation (old lock, dirty carpet, musty smell, air filter never cleaned). The location is very good except it is not so close to MRT. The room was a bit larger than the other discount hotels.

Stayed there for a night when transiting through Singapore. The hotel is in a great location. We were a family of 4, with a 11 mth old and a 4yr old children. The hotel room is basic and small, but works just fine for a place to put your head for the night. The rooms were clean and the staff helpful, they put an extra bed in the room. The extra bed fitted comfortsbly in the room but will feel tight if you have a lot of luggage. Free breakfast and wireless were included.

I had visited singapore with my wife on a 5 day package and the travel agent had booked our room in Summer View. We read good reviews about the hotel and so went on with the same.

Though, the check-in time was around 13:00 noon our agent informed the hotel well in advance that it will be a early check in and we had a confirmation on the same. But,on reaching the hotel we were not able to go for a early check-in. We had to sit in the reception 30-40 mts with frequent talks with the reception and luckily, with mercy, probably because we were a family, room was allotted. However, after some early hiccups got ourselves equipped in the room!

Rooms are OK with required amenities.Hotel premises were looking clean. Their buffet breakfast is good.I would NOT recommend this hotel to vegetarians or people who insist on trying Indian food, because it's NIL. Don't expect mind blowing ambiance, posh structures/rooms or anything of that sort. It's a budget friendly hotel for tourist who tend to spend most of their day sight seeing and by visiting the nooks and corners of singapore.

Any tourist can be happy with the locality - A stone's throw from the Bugis Market. A market, no one want to miss on their visit to singapore - Day or Night. Everything is very cheap and so much happening. MRT is close by and easily accessible to places near and dear.

Last but not the least, On my second thought, after reaching there, I thought i should have preferred staying in Hotel IBIS which was just opposite to Summer View ;) Thanks.

Room tip: If your agent assures you of a early check-in or a late check-out, i would recommend you to confirm in written from the hotel authorities to avoid any hazzles.Thankyou.
