Our kids really enjoyed the hands-on displays and the diagrams of different scientific processes. The other children that were there were just as interested in the different displays. The diagram of plant classifications was illustrated with real plants! It was fascinating to see the pictures of the damage sustained by the museum in the last big earthquake... the unrepaired area outside the building is more understandable when this is taken into account.

This museum is one of the several attractions located at the Parque Quinta Normal. From the city center, one can take the Metro to the Quinta Normal Metro Station to visit it plus the other attractions near by. You can spend the entire day visiting all the FREE attractions and those that have minimum entrance fees here.

For less than 1 US $, one can enter this museum. Visitors, particularly children have fun using the big "walkie/talkie or phones" located near the entrance of the museum. Exhibits include solar systems, interactive games, old equipment, art works, etc. I saw kids having fun using the interactive games.

Be sure to include this museum when you visit the Parque Quinta Normal and enjoy all the Parque's attractions plus those located near it.

Great option in Santiago for kids, teens and grown ups, as well. Located contiguous to the Quinta Normal subway station, it is surrounded by a magnificent garden. Interactive, the museum offers a nicely organized, self-guided and complete display of the Chilean nature, geology and anthropology covering the ten Chile's regions. During our visit a spot, interactive exhibition on the human ear was offered.
