We spent two nights at this lovely small hotel. Our safari outfitter told us that this unique property was one of her favorites—now, it’s one of ours. Fair warning...there is no elevator but we were helped with our bags by friendly staff. Our room was a loft configuration—small kitchen and sitting area downstairs with a wonderful large balcony with views of the surrounding mountainside communities and the distant port. Our bedroom and bath were upstairs in the loft area. Both were quite nice with plenty of room and hot water. The hotel is unairconditioned but we were provided with a fan for our bedroom. The second day of our stay, we asked the desk to have someone come and open up the transom window over our balcony door that cannot be reached by guests. it gave us a wonderful breeze that made for a wonderful nights sleep. We recommend that you do that upon check-in. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The woman who checked us in, gladly called and somehow managed to work a miracle by getting dinner reservations for us at a popular restaurant that evening...it was booked completely and it was Valentine’s Day! The next evening, she gladly recommended another wonderful restaurant and made our reservations. Each morning, the lobby is converted into a breakfast area where a good, healthy breakfast is served with delicious individually brewed cups of coffee con leche. We had a very early pick up the morning we checked out and they kindly served us breakfast before our driver came. Our walking tour of the city began by walking up the stairs behind our hotel and down steps to the residential neighborhood behind our hotel...a unique hotel in a great location. We’d stay here again! We loved our stay.

This 11 room hotel perched on the side of a hill in Valparaiso is one of a kind. The front desk staff are so welcoming and helpful, they could not do enough for us. The majority of rooms are loft rooms with a bed on the lower level, another bed and bath on second level. While not air conditioned, the room cooled off nicely once the sun went down and was quite comfortable. Beds, pillows, linens and towels were fine as was the shower. We booked a room that included a bottle of wine and appetizers that were delicious. Did I mention the staff? They arranged transportation from Santiago to the hotel and then from the hotel to cruise port in San Antonio the next day. Both drivers (Cristian and Sergio) were excellent. The hotel offered a walking tour which we ended up cancelling but did do the dinner at the home of Karina and Felipe. What a special evening and not to be missed, they are a delightful couple. Dinner was delicious! If I am ever back in Valparaiso returning to Hotel Cirilo Armstrong will be like coming home again! Thank you for a very special time in your beautiful city!

We only had one night in Valparaiso but Cirilo Armstrong was a great choice for exploring the local street art and some great views out over the harbour. Service was excellent as was the breakfast. The room was large and comfortable with a nice view out from the balcony.

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights in early Dec. A very cool hotel and certainly the definition of boutique. When we first arrived we were greeted so friendly straight away (sorry I can't remember the host's name, but he got us in holiday mode straight away). We booked a room with a hot tub and a view overlooking the crazy streets of the city, amazing. The rooms are quirky, the host's are lovely and the location is superb.
