Set in the Metropolitan Cultural Museum, next to the Carondolet Palace, this restaurant was a nice find. Although I had been o the museum many times, I had never been to the restaurant. It is set in the main courtyard of this beautiful old building, former home of the University of San Gabriel. It now houses an art museum as well as the national library. The food was very good. The menu featuring Ecuadorian cuisine at moderate prices. A fixed lunch (menu of the day), 4 courses is priced at $6.00. Latin ballads played inside the Restaurant, which was very attractive. The service was disappointingly slow since there was only one server! A good place to stop for either breakfast or lunch while wandering around the old city.
