This boutique bed and breakfast was absolutely amazing. It is small with only about 6 guest rooms. We were 3 people and we thought that they would be able to put in a rollaway bed into our room, but they could not. Initially they recommended we look into getting a second room at another hotel, but we did not want to separate. We even said that we would pay for the extra person and the person doesn't mind taking the floor. After some convincing they permitted it and even went out to purchase an aerobed and sleeping bag for us. Absolutely unexpected and we were grateful for it. This B&B is about 15 minutes walking distance from the Plaza and on a very quiet street. There is a gate and you need to be buzzed in and out, which made it seem like the area was not too safe. Luckily, we were fine and not once felt unsafe. I would recommend this place to any brave solo travelers or couples. Breakfast was served at 7am. Even though we were leaving early, they were still able to make us something so we had food prior to hopping on a long bus ride. It's a real gem. The owners were very hospitable.

A very nice hotel, 10 minute walk from downtown, just far enough to be out of the craziness! Very nice area, awesome staff, extremely helpful! Delicious breakfast, spacious room, clean bathroom. Everything was just perfect!

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor have a side view of the volcano. Rooms on the first floor are quieter!

Great stay in Arequipa! 10 min walk to Plaza de Aremas. The hosts were extremely nice and welcoming!! Our room was very tidy and pretty. You can call a taxi from the street or the hotel will call one for you. Breakfast was awesome with eggs, cereal, fruits, cheese and yogurt. Veronica was so sweet !! she gave my wife a key chain with Eiffel tower (because Gerard is from France and my wife loved one of the showpieces in the hotel). We loved our stay and I highly recommend staying here if you want to have a pleasant and classy stay in Arequipa.

Room Tip: Room 1 was at the end and was very quiet.

Beausejour is a very nice boutique-hotel. It is well located (close to Plaza de Armas) and the staff is very kind. Having breakfast with the owner's of this hotel is also a very nice experience.
Big hotels like Sonesta, Hilton, Crowne Plaza, etc are good, but staying in a hotel where you feel a unique client is trully something great.

This review has been a long time coming. In July 2014 we stayed at Beausejour and all in all it was a lovely stay.

After a 7+ hours bus ride we were grateful that we could check in at the hotel at 7 a.m and take a hot shower. The room was clean and good enough for two.
After getting some rest we met with Veronica and you instantly feel at home. She gave us instructions to the city center and it was quite easy to find. The center is about a 10 - 15 minute walk. When returning at night we were a bit watchful and didn't feel totally safe. But after the second evening we felt safe. There are enough people walking in the streets at night.

The second morning we got to meet Gerard during breakfast. He is also very kind. At the breakfast table you meet other guests which makes it nice to meet other people and exchange must-see places in and around Arequipa.
Veronica and Gerard are very helpful and extremely kind! They were always willing to answer any questions and they also arranged the colca tour for us with a touring operator. Also, when my partner caught a bad flu Veronica called a cab for us and instructed him to take us to a doctor in the city center.

We only had a few remarks: since the rooms have no fan or a/c, it got pretty hot up to the point that I couldn't sleep. Also, we feel like we were charged for the smallest things such as a cup of tea when my partner got sick, also the early check-in, etc. We didn't mind paying any of it, because we had such a wonderful time. But it only would've been nice to be notified of the extra charges beforehand. Also, if you don't speak any Spanish or French communicating with either of the owners is quite difficult.

I would definitely recommend Beausejour when staying in Arequipa. The proximity to the city center, the clean rooms and the owners make it a wonderful experience and worth your while.
