The courtyard and cloisters are a lovely example of Baroque architecture from the 16th century. The design of the columns and workmanship of the main façade is stunning. This church was part of our tour through the Historic center which is designated a World Heritage site. The property has gone through several earthquakes over the centuries, and some parts were rebuilt. Well worth a visit.

The Cúpula Policromada (multi-colored cupola) is the most beautiful place I've seen in Arequipa. Entrance to the church is free, but you must pay 10 soles to see the cupola. It is well worth it, The colors are vibrant and the entire room is painted floor to ceiling. Amazing.

Better to go here in the afternoon, it can be included in a city tour so you get some info. The church is beautiful. Also the adjacent enclosed squares, full of beautiful masonry and with many shops and cafe/restaurants inside

The internal patio and the catedral are a good example of the Spanish Barroc.
A gold decorate eglise.

It's a rare church that the exterior is better than the interior. Both are compelling, but if you have to pick, choose the outside.
