“Montevideo Views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2012

When in Montevideo, Uruguay arriving at the port, take a free shuttle with the leather factory to the central plaza. At the plaza, go to the Radisson Hotel, take elevator to the top floor restaurant. There you will have a panoramic view of Montevideo from the restaurant windows. Then sit down for a good coffee, tea, snack or meal. They also have free WiFi.

Montevideo has interesting old architectural buildings...too bad many are abandoned, or in bad state. This old part of Montevideo reminds me of Havana. There appears to me to be tremendous opportunity for Uruguayans to refurbish these architectural & historical buildings back to there original grandure. These would be a tourist attraction.
Please do not demolish these historical buildings.

“Tour Guide Michelle was absolutely the Best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2012

we spent christmas day with Michelle for a Jewish Heritage tour.
The cruise ship cancelled this tour because of the Christmas day holiday so we found Michelle on Tripadvisor and tours by locals. She was just amazing! She knew everthing there was to know about jewish history in Montevideo and showed us all of the relevant sites, both open and closed that day. We topped of the day with a lunch visit to the Barbecue restaurant near the pier, which was "jumping" for Christmas celebration. MIchelle was just the best and I would hire her again on my next visit. Do not hesitate to contact her for your tour of Montevideo which is a great city!
