We were staying at Las Gaviotas between 27th of December 2011 and the 2nd of January 2012. The only reason why we were staying there is that the whole Montevideo hotels were fully booked.
When we entered the room we immediately noticed that the carpets hadn't been vacuumed before our arrival. Moving to the WC it was clear that the tenants have not clue of what hygiene is; I save you from reading on what's in my mind right now...
My 5 years old son was bit in the neck by an insect similar to a flea that not even the web can catalogue (the hotel seems to have its own fauna...)
Insects are also very much appreciating the breakfast buffet so, if you'd like to have breakfast at the hotel prepare for a fight for food....
Also pay attention when approaching the window since the wood pavement in front of it is likely to collapse under a weight of more than 75 kg (it wasn't the case with me but that's potentially going to be the case soon)More
