One of the small huts at one end of Punanga Nui market in Avarua houses Michele’s Café.
We went there for lunch one day and shared a Michy’s Platter. It was probably the best lunch we had on this trip to Raro. The Tuna Sashimi was super fresh and was accompanied by two types of ika mata, some interesting rice and a small salad. Eaten with provided chopsticks it will a delicious feast without being too filling.
He had his usual Coke, but I enjoyed a Vietnamese Iced Coffee which was deliciously refreshing without being too sweet or fattening.
Parking was easy on either side of the central road berm, but would be difficult on Saturdays when the market is in full swing. I’m sorry we didn’t get back to try another of the platters on offer, but we’ll definitely do so next time. Highly recommended.
