The brewery's building is very beautiful. We were excited about the guided tour and the museum....BUT! There isn't a production at the factory on weekends, so you can not enter the brewery. Besides the fact that it was a huge disappointment, neither the information on the brewery's web site nor the tickets has this information. 3KM Museum, 5KM Museum and Brewery, 25KM Museum and Brewery and HS Pivnica Restaurant Menu. But on the weekends has no Brewery, so we only can see Museum for 3KM or pay more expensive 25KM ticket for Museum and HS Pivnica Restaurant Menu. We were at the Straopramen brewery in Prague at the Dreher brewery in Budapest, but we were unable to get into the Sarajevo brewery :( Our flight ticket was on weekend, we did not have the chance to go back to the weekday. We visited the museum, which is only one room and provides weak informations. We loved Sarajevo, but this was a disappointment to us :(

What an interesting place - loved the lively music indigenous to the region/country. Beer was made on premises which made it unique. Really kool architecture inside and out. Only setback was smoke! It's still allowed; and as an occasional cigarillo smoker, it was even too much for me. We're talking thick clouds of it.

I knew from doing some research that the museum wasn't the best, but the inside of the restaurant/pub is worth the visit. The brewery is around 150 years old and the decor inside matches that perfectly. It is definitely worth stopping in for a beer.

Unfortunately you can not see anything from the brewery, so don't expect to have an exhausting, long visit to discover the hidden secrets of beer-making. In fact the museum is a small room full of advertisements and other materials mainly from the late 19th century. With the tickets you are also entitled to visit the restaurant of the brewery when you can taste the Sarajevsko beer. It has good atmosphere with wooden ceilings and the beer is quite good.

Whilst it's a bit off the beaten track, outside the main city (although only about a 15 - 20 minute walk) this place is well worth finding.

It's been in existence for over 150 years, and was opened under Ottoman rule - quite a feat in itself!

Very good selection of beers, well worth spending some time here sampling them.......

Good local food too, and at very reasonable prices, and the service is very good.

As well as a snack at lunchtime, we also went for an evening meal; there was a party on in the main bar, but we were shown to a very nice dining room upstairs, where we had a very enjoyable evening meal.

Worth searching out for sure
