This hostel is really easy to find from the main station. Once you enter from the street its set back from the road a little so is very quiet. When I stayed there I was actually the only person there as it was out of season, but I'd guess its still nice to stay there during busy times as there's an area to socialise in and it is very welcoming. Staff were brilliant, very knowledgeable and helpful, made some good recommendations. The hostel was spotless, I haven't been to one cleaner than this. It is extremely modern too and the facilities are fantastic.
I was in Zagreb to watch football. The hostel is close to the main station, from where a tram can take you directly to the stadium. The hostel is slightly out of the hustle and bustle - if you want to be right in the hub of things then there are a few other hostels to choose from, but this is only a 10 minute walk away from the main streets so well worth considered, and its more convenient for onward travel.

We stayed here after a stressful family event in October 2014. It was just what we needed. The receptionist was wonderfully welcoming and spoke English extremely well as well as Croatian. He went above and beyond his role, recommending us museums and restuarants and places we must see. The staff are so friendly and really put you at ease. As well as offering twin bedded private rooms complete with cable TV in English, there is internet access via wifi and even a public laptop that guests can use, which came in super handy as our laptop had broken. There are also cooking facilities, (cooker and microwave) and a refrigerator as food is not included. Ensuite rooms with lovely warm showers, but again own soap/showergel/toothpaste has to be provided by the guests.

Had a lovely two night stay here, would certainly go back for a longer stay in the future! 5 stars!

I stayed here in early september 2014. The hostel was a bit hard to find, as you have to go through a gate off the main road and its kinda hidden in the back. It had a modern look to it and the reception area was very clean. I stayed on the first floor in a private room. The bathroom was clean, the beds were ok, and i really liked the flat panel TV! My only knock on this hostel is that its very very quiet. Not much mingling in the common areas, so if you wanna meet people here, a private room is definitely NOT the way to go. The staff is friendly ,and let me borrow an umbrella on a rainy day for a few hours! Also, at night if you come back, they close the gate from the main road, so you have to use a fob to unlock it. My first night doing this (after a few drinks) , was not what I call smooth, and jammed my hand trying to open it. But other than that, nice hostel!

Room Tip: If you wanna meet other travelers, try to get a shared room. The private rooms are good for your own self, but as the common areas weren't popping, you really didnt meet anybody.

I stayed six nights at Hostel Chic and everything about the place was great. The place has immaculate rooms, strong wifi and great state of the art kitchen to cook with a common area to eat and watch The World Cup. All of the staff were super friendly and accomodating with whatever needs I had. Nina was exceptionally knowledgable of Zagreb and provided a lot of information for things to see and do in the city, including stuff which was off the standard beaten tourist path. Her cheerful smile, easy going manner and help with the stove made my stay at this hostel quite pleasant. On my last night there, she even shared her mother's homemade chocolate chip cookies with me. I highly recommend Hostel Chic for your stay in Zagreb.

Room Tip: Ask Nina to help you.

We only stopped for a night in Zagreb, but after a 7 hour train journey it was great that the hostel was only a 5-10 minute walk away. We found the hostel easily and upon arrival the girl on reception was polite, friendly and pointed out somewhere to eat and the location of ATMs. The hostel was clean and well organised with a light and socket above each bed. Only criticism is that there was only one shower (the shower was really nice) in the upstairs men's bathroom and only 1 toilet in the upstairs female bathroom. The hostel itself is very little so this rarely a problem but the shower became busy before checkout.
