What struck me first at the restaurant is its rustic decoration; a hunting lodge with animal hides and hunting trophies all over the restaurant. But the food was regal. Good wines great service. There are grills, soups and local dishes of variety of grilled meats. But not to be missed is the marinated quince served with Ice-cream. We loved this dessert very much. It is rare to find dessert made from quince in the majority of western countires.

You have to be dressed casual, only long trousers/jeans for men, no tracksuit or slippers. The restaurant is pretty fancy and roustic, food is great.
We took the lamb with onions, polenta, sheep cheese, omelette. We also had a side plate of pickled melons, pickles, cabbage, mushrooms and green tomatoes.
As appetizer the waiter suggested the sour cabbage placinta(pie).
We drank an amazing white and black(red) Purcari wine.
The waiter was a very friendly and subtle guy.
But as I said in the title beware of the dresscode, because we almost got rejected, even though outside was torrid.

The place looks like the restaurants from Poiana Brasov,Romania. Wood on the outside and also stone in the inside. Decorations are representing wildlife. And the food is owsome! Serving is quick and elegant and they give all the details of the food if you need. The red soup with duck is perfect. Also the polenta with cheese is great. Water is a bit expensive than wine, Moldova is a wine land. But local wine is good and goes perfectly with every dish you chose. The ambient is chill and child friendly! Highly recommend it!

After visiting such great reataurants like La Placinte this was a big dissappointment. Service was good but food had no good tastes. Tasteless basic food with high prizes. Moldovia has exellent restaurants, but Popasul is far from the good average level.

The place is beautiful, wooden and stones made building, an oasis of beauty and freshness. The food is amazing and so is the service. Worth going!
