“Lovely hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2012

This is a new property which opened three years ago. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is free wifi, a safe in the room and an iron and ironing board. The bed was very comfortable and the room was immaculate.

The pool area is especially lovely. The hotel is surrounded by a golf course. We dined at the hotel. The food was good and the service was excellent.

The only drawback to this hotel is that it is physically isolated from everything but the golf course. I would have preferred being closer to the Panama Canal.

We stayed here as part of our Caravan Co,. tour of Panama. On the whole this is a nice hotel located in the rainforest, but there are a few problems. There are minor things that needed repair (e.g., missing shelf in the shower, rust areas on the balcony railings, etc.) Sometimes the restaurant seemed understaffed. It was difficult to get a second cup of coffee at breakfast. Items that ran out were not promptly replaced. Also, if I recall correctly, the buffet serving containers did not have sterno heaters under them, so hot items would cool off rapidly.

We just stayed 3 nights at this hotel in Panama. It is a bit out of the way from Panama City but very close to Miraflores Locks, Ancon Hill, Gamboa Resort and Albrook Mall. Free breakfast and internet were great! They have a shuttle to Albrook Mall each day at 10:30am and we used it twice to get closer to the city. Drivers and front desk staff were great. Only reason not giving a 5 star is that they do kind of overcharge for taxis. We were headed to Playa Bonita which is about 30-40 minutes away and they wanted to charge us $130...it took that long to get from airport to hotel and that cost $48 from regular taxi outside Tocumen (and that's after paying the $10 gringo upcharge).

To avoid these inflated hotel taxi charges, I would recommend taking a taxi to Radisson from Tocumen, then taking free 10:30am shuttle the next morning to Albrook Mall, go to Albrook Airport from there (right across the street, probably a $2 taxi ride) and renting a car for your stay at Radisson Summit. That way you can get your bearings. Definitely go to Gamboa Resort to do their activities, Miraflores Locks for Canal history and Ancon Hill for the most gorgeous view.

I would have given this hotel an excellent rating if it were close to anything. When you are there, you are there! You have to drive some distance to anything else. If you want peace and quiet, this is your place. Great for golf and a very nice swiming pool. The food was very good and the staff were prompt and plesant.

this hotel is excellent value in all ways. Experienced traveler and was wonderful hotel for a week long vacation for me and my wife. Room was first class with wonderful view of rainforest. Location of hotel was superb as long as you had a rental car. Went into Panama City regularly and an easy 25 minute drive to most locations in evening, longer in daytime traffic. Also easy access to Canal, beaches to the west and nearby attractions.

Jungle retreat was a not to miss experience arranged by hotel.

Staff was great and went out of way to be helpful. Only surprise here was how difficult the English language was for many of the staff.

Room Tip: stayed on 8th floor with rainforest view....and balcony....very nice
