The view of the city from Amador is terrific! The drive out is a beautiful and relaxing short trip with views of the yachts and other boats resting in the water, and the entry to the canal is interesting with the ships lined up to enter. The city keeps the causeway clean and colorful and it is an easy drive. The small shopping area is nice and the restaurants are great and used to tourists so the language is not an issue.

This is a beautiful stretch of road that gives views of the city and the ocean and the jungle at once. It shows the diversity of Panama in a sweep. It is all the more interesting that this causeway is man-made from the stone removed to make the canal. That makes it the counterpoint to the canal--designed, engineered and made by human effort, connecting two natural locations. Very understated in its importance.

The Causeway is hugely changed. It's unrecognizable from what it used to be. There's shops, hire a bike, restaurants, marinas, condos, hotels, and the tropical Smithsonian, and colorful futuristic Museum of Biodiversity designed by the renowned architect F Gehry are there. The Causeway is definitely worth a visit. Take the Hop on/off bus early on a Sunday (only day w/o traffic jams!!), get off at the museum, then hop on to the end, get off, lunch at Alberto's or Leñas y Carbon, (have a gelato next to Alberto's for dessert -expensive but yummm). Both are large restaurants in front of the marina (now expanded) with a view of the city skyscrapers.

It has some nice restaurants, a museum, and nice roads to ride bike, run or walk. You have a nice view of the yatch club and its a nice place to go.

Amador is great. Dont miss it! There is almost always a breeze blowing. There are resturants where you can eat or drink. You can rent bicycles to ride. Or just walk or jog along the causeway enjoying the breeze & view.
During the middle of the day it gets really hot. Best times are morning or late afternoon.
