This Plaza, which is on the northern side of the city , is located next to the coastline which offer a great panoramic view of the skyline and the sea. In addition, this plaza is close to a number of major attractions

Stayed here for 2 nights and the best thing about it was the location. While there was nothing wrong with it, it really wasn't as comfortable and 'pretty' as it looks in the online photos with those great colorful shots of the pool overlooking the skyline. Check in was fast and efficient and we really didn't encounter any rudeness or attitude that other reviewers have mentioned. Our room was ok. On the plus side it was very spacious. On the down side, a lot of that space was wasted. Because conversely, the bathroom was tiny. The countertop/sink is not inside the bathroom - it's in a "recess" between the bedroom and the bathroom. The bathroom itself is just the bath/shower and the toilet. With no extra space at all. So, hotel management, when you refurbish (which really needs to be done soon!!), how about taking some of the unnecessary space in the bedroom and making the bathroom a more reasonable size. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, but it's just dated. Old fashioned furniture and dreary old fashioned furnishings. And a very noisy a/c unit high up on the wall, with no happy medium. Either get blasted with very cold air, or switch it off entirely and deal with the humidity. Our room was on the street side, opposite the construction. Yes we heard it during the day but as we weren't in the room much, it really wasn't a problem. We had a good view of the city skyline, even though there was a big crack in the floor to ceiling window. Oh, and there was no end stopper on the curtain track so when closing the curtains on the first night, part off it came off the track. And when we got back to our room the next day, it was still off the track. So either housekeeping or maintenance don't care very much about the condition of the room.

The buffet breakfast was just ok. Not a huge amount of choice, but it was reasonable. Didn't eat dinner there. The pool area was fairly pleasant. Plenty of space around it and plenty of sun loungers. But not as pretty as it looks on the photos as those palm trees around the edge are no longer there - it was pretty bare really.

But the location was good. There's a small mall across the road - just a 5/10 minute walk and the drive to Viejo Casco is about 20/30 mins depending on traffic.

All in all, this is just a stayover hotel for a night or two. It's not a resort and it's not somewhere I would want to use as a base for my vacation. It was ok but if going back to Panama City, I would probably choose somewhere else.

We went there for the weekend in February 22-25. We had a reservation for a King Bed. We got there and the people at the front desk told us they didn’t have king beds and that we should be grateful we even had a room. So much for customer service. Oh and you wouldn’t even know they work there they have no idea what corporate image is, zero uniform. A gal was wearing off the shoulder top and jeans and she was at front desk, the face of the hotel. Food was boring, breakfast buffet, not too much to choose from. Room and hotel overall needs to be remodeled, the pool also needs an update. The only good thing was the location.

We stayed at Plaza Paitilla for 1 night because a friend mentioned they were staying there before a Catamaran trip from the Trump the next morning. After a 10 minute wait for a group check in, our checkin was very smooth and the young lady spoke great English. Our room was large and spotless. Including the bathroom. Some people had complained about construction noise. If you are on the street side, yes there is a new building going up across the street. The free welcome cocktail was fruit punch with rum. Don't waste the calories. So I ordered a Margarita on the rocks. It was by far the worst Margarita I had ever had. My husband had Jack Daniels. He was smart. The breakfast buffet was ok, not great. There is an omelet station in a back room. I had one and it was decent. There were some "unidentifiable" deep fried items. The fruit was very good. They have parking in a lot next to the hotel, that is closed off by a chain. We had to remove it ourselves when we wanted to leave. Overall, it's functional if you need to be in that area in the morning and don't want to fight the traffic. Would I stay there on vacation? Not a chance. Ironically our friends had a horrible check in.

WAS ARRESTED AND DETAINED IN HANDCUFFS, because I did not want to pay $80 for an guest in my room where it clearly states I can have two people. ORBITZ did nothing to accommodate me with a refund and a few orbitz bucks, but they were ok with me being arrested after being only at the hotel for 12 hours.
