Highly recommended, try the lamb chops, the fish with tomato puree and the dessert, one of several new outstanding restaurants opening up in Panama City.

I had dinner there with my family the first night I stayed in the city. It was by far the BEST meal I have had anywhere. I highly recommend their "Mediterranean Shrimp" which is so tasty the flavor will stay in your memory for days after. Too bad I couldn't go back there before I left the city.

My daughter choose for her birthday a different restaurant to visit. She'd seen good reviews of Mistral. The place seems to be a remodeled two floors 'chalet'. Scarce parking, but the restaurant was empty, so it was fine with us. The place is advertised as "gourmet, mediterranean & international". The decor tries to be elegant or classy, but not overwhelmly so.The service was very good. I was not surprise to find Colombian nationals, taking care of us, it's become a trademark in many good restaurants in Panama. We requested different appetizers, they were all very wellcome. We ordered seafood and meat, the general opinion of the seafood dishes was "great", unfortunately I ordered "entraña" and it was not inviting at all, I left half of it in the plate (even though we were only two tables being served, not de maitre or the chef even asked why I left my food allmost untouched). The group enjoyed the red sangria. the desserts were very good. From my point of view, the prices were high for what the restaurant offered, including the service, location, etc... As we were leaving, the maitre, without thinking it twice, took his tie off and left walking down the street, I'd have preferred he waited until the last "commensal" leaves the restaurant, it gave me the impression that, since we have already paid, there was no compromise between the restaurant and its clients. But, that's only what I think.
