Description: Ventuno is an island restaurant inspired by the frascas of Italy, small farmhouses which opened themselves up to friends and neighbors with wine and homemade food. Executive Chefs Gabriel Frasca and Amanda Lydon, with Chef De Cuisine Andrea Solimeo, delight in imagining Nantucket shellfish, fish and produce in Italian hands. House-cut pasta and simple takes on the bounty of sea and land are complemented by a carefully curated Italian wine list. Drink and eat our entire menu on either dining room floor or bar, or the open-air back bar, with comfortable service and the inviting breeze of the ocean.

We were recommended to Ventuno by the bar staff next door, true to there suggestions the food was outstanding.
We shared 3 appetizers, Fritto Misto, meatballs and foie gras.
Every mouth full was amazing.
Home made Pasta as mains was also outstanding.
Owen the bartender and our server was a great host, good knowledge of the menu and very attentive.
Great restaurant and great service.
Right up there as one of my best meals out in sometime.
Will return on Saturday night with the wife, cant wait.

The day before our meal we received a voicemail confirming our reservation. When we called to confirm we were told that we did not have a reservation. It took some convincing for us to get a table for that night and it was for 8:45pm, not the original 8:15 reservation. After the call reminded my wife that we could email the voicemail message proving that the restaurant called us with the 8:15pm so she called back, and only then were we able to get the 8:15pm reservation back.

Too much work already.

When we arrived at the restaurant for our meal we were seated about 20 feet from the bar and the decibel level approached painful. The fact that we were seated so close to such a loud bar is laughable.

We did not bother waiting further than hearing the specials—-which we couldn’t hear anyway. The two of us got out of our chairs and went back the front of the restaurant and asked for a new table.

Outside of the problems mentioned above the service was great. They offered us free drinks for our inconvenience.

They meal was another issue. The squash pasta was bland and there really was no sauce or any valuable taste. We generally do not complain but I think we were already amped up by the experience so far that my wife made a comment to the server and they comped her meal.

The sea bass was unremarkable. Perhaps I was again hypersensitive to our experience—-it was loud upstairs too, but it really was average at best.

Suffice to say we will not be back. Given that we have been coming to Nantucket for 25 years and consecutive years since 2004 and have our favorite restaurants this should mean something........

Being solo, I opted for sitting at the bar. The bartender was very welcoming. Ordered the Chicken which was a tad salty but cooked to perfection as well as the zucchini and side. The white sauce topped off the dish. Lots of regulars at the bar. A must visit In Nantucket.
