Perfect location, excellent sea view, very good and clean suite, it will be good to have a private beach, and in need to have a truly professional staff, the hotel has a terrible staff especially Rep. Ahmed Nagy he is very rude with guest, and Restaurant staff They were rude and slow

I visited the hotel in Jan on a business trip. The room was clean but furniture is v old, actually the whole hotel looks old and needs renovation specially the entrance. Bathroom was clean but poor for example there was no bathing sink, the shower was part of the bathroom floor which made a mess after showering. Mini bar was empty though they have signs not to bring food from outside!
Staff were friendly and helpful.

Plaza hotel is old hotel but in a good shape with very good service, also the location by the sea is making additional value, of course the hotel needs maintenance in a few things but in total I recommend it for couples specially

Stayed in Feb 2019 and again last week (Nov 2019). Both times were good to excellent. We chose the hotel as we had previously stayed here and it was one of the few hotels that had a last minute availability which made the decision easier.

We booked 3 rooms - all clean, decent breakfast, nice hot water and good bathrooms. Breakfast served in a restaurant with a beautiful sea view through panoramic windows. Great for the winter periods when you prefer to be indoors. Hotel is close to San Stefano which makes it easily accessible to the mall, shops and also eateries, coffee shops etc. Tram station is about 5-7 mins walk.
At first instance reception staff could (incorrectly) seem very abrupt and discourteous however I think it is a language barrier. They maintain very high standards at the reception - they do their checks very well (eg that all documentation is in order), address any issues immediately, speak excellent English and are very quick during check in and check out. Just be human to them and see what a long way that goes in their service. I have to commend their work.

Some of the rooms could be a wee bit on the smaller side (for non-European standards), but it is what gives this place character. It is a break from the big corporate or brand names and gives you a feel of being in Alexandria but to a good standard. If you are lucky you will get access to a cosy, quaint balcony which faces the sea. Location and staff gets 10++ points.

Room tip: As for a room with a balcony if you can get one and not facing main road.
