Considering where I was this was such a pleasurable experience. First class service. They could arrange it all - cars, tour, and activities or leave me on my on to do so. I had them arranged a private car for me for dinner and the next day for a trip to the waterfalls – so nice. The staff gave me a recommendation to eat at the Tamarind which was my favorite meal of our trip to Bangkok, Saigon and here. I stayed on the 2nd floor, room 21 I believe, which was really nice. The walk-in shower was so good especially since I don’t like bathtub showers. The AC worked perfectly with the remote control. Breakfast was very good and the setting was especially pleasant. They brought me as much coffee and cream as I wanted! I only talked to the French lady who was the manger of the place on the 3rd morning when I was leaving. She was so interesting, I believe she was originally from Normandy and has been in Laos for 18 years. I wish I had talked to her the first day and I highly recommend you seek her out on your first day.
On and the mosquitos. I was there during the rainy season in October but I got sunburned as we had beautiful sunny weather with no mosquitos whatsoever. When I arrived, I asked about mosquitos in the room and was worried but I was so glad that this was a non-issue.

Everything worked out perfect in this place and wished forcouple more days in this hotel. Free bikes was excellent service though breaks need some maintenance. :) Trips organised by hotel were excellent!

This was my favourite stay in Laos.Villa Maly has a welcoming and relaxed feel but the attention to detail and the professionalism of the staff is greatly appreciated. My upstairs room was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely view over the pool. A nice touch was room service each night when bed was turned down, shutters closed and delicious biscuits left to have with tea or coffee. The room staff even noted that I preferred no doona but light bed covers instead and re-arranged the bed-making accordingly.

Amazing staff. Highly recommended.

Our room (I believe it was their largest one) was very spacious and specially arranged in order for us to be able to sleep with our two kids.
Staff was very attentive and always helpful with tour bookings, and all matters related to our stay.

One of the night we were staying there coincided with one of our child's birthday, the went our of their way a prepared a birthday cake which was delivered to our room after a long and tiring day walking and exploring. It was totally unexpected and it is one of the experiences that you never forget.

Villa Maly is a great base in Luang Prabang. It's walking distance to town, night markets and set in lush tropical gardens in a safe and quiet part of town. The room was great value, the breakfast lovely, and the staff were always on hand to assist with any questions.
