We took a tuk tuk to the Phan Luang pizza restaurant as it's just over the Nam Khan river. It is easily accessible by going across the up-river bamboo bridge, when built, but my wife didn't fancy that. As it was, the tuk tuk ride added to the whole experience. The driver waited for us and took us back into LP afterwards. We chose the Phan Luang pizza place as it was well reported on in the TripAdvisor reports. They were not wrong. It was outstanding, a truly great set of pizzas for me and my wife. The owner, an adventurous Canadian, and his lovely Lao partner were excellent hosts, and the food they cooked up was absolutely superb. We loved our meal here, and we thought PJ (the Canadian) could write a great book as to how he ended up in LP. All in all - being in Luang Prabang on a warm Lao evening not far from the river with great food - we're inclined to rate this as one of the best pizza experiences of our lives. Two tips to note. Bug spray would make sense, as per anywhere at dusk in Laos. And the restaurant does not look too obvious from the outside, as it's at the back - PJ has an English school up front. Is this worth the visit over the river? Absolutely
