Its linked to the 5 star Hyatt Regency Dubai, and use of its facility.
Good points its near a metro station (closed most of Friday opens late afternoon).
The misses had a free coffee at the lobby whilst using the free wifi and she said its the best coffee she had.
We visited it many times just for the coffee I had soft drink.
Kitchen was good apart from fridge door and shelf all other mod cons
Its got ice rink and wifi is good in lobby area. Staff was very helpful.
There is a pool bar with sport TV but didn't buy anything.
There even a small supermarket that stocks Tesco stuff.
As for the rest its old and very dated the apartment looks something from 70s
Pool which is part of the 5 star hotel was poorly maintained walls and paint was poor I wouldn't allow young children to use it was could easily injured themselves.
TV had plenty channels but it was snowing.
Washer/drier to be honest it didn't dry anything.

The Galleria Residence is the Family and long term rental part of the Hyatt Regency Dubai Hotel. The location is convenient and the residence provides a free car parking for its residents. There is an Ice Rink, a supermarket and a cafe inside the residence.

Well, what a disaster. This accommodation was booked by my company for a 3 week business trip to Dubai, and they couldn't have picked a worst place.

The main thing: this place is dirty. One finger of dust and dirt around the skirting boards, and not just behind the nightstands. The first apartment we were given, we stayed in it for one week and a half in there - until we saw cockroaches roaming from one bathroom to a bedroom. Once reported to the person at the reception, a gentleman wearing the traditional attire (dishdasha) who couldn't care less whatever you would tell him, we were offered to "send someone the day after to lay some gel" - he couldn't even offer us to change apartments, so we had to explicitly request it to a manager - who gave us a room that had a terrible smell of dump. Third attempt, the smell wasn't so bad - no cockroaches in sight - but still shared the same amount of dirt and suspicious red stains on the same decrepit carpet.

the smell factor is enhanced by the fact that some guests smoke in their apartment and the cigarette stink gets to the corridor and in others' apartment.

Facilities like the pool on the rooftop and the reduced laundry prices apply only to "long-staying guests" - one month minimum. Expect a fat bill if you choose to use the laundry service as the prices applied are possibly the same as the 5* Hyatt Regency main hotel.

Location-wise is far from ideal - it's in the north side of Dubai (Deira) close to the Gold and Spice souks, but that's pretty much it - it's far from Marina / media city, and the traffic in miserable due to the reduced amount of lanes in Deira, the old town. A metro station is close enough but it's far from recommended to use the metro in summer. Taxis tend to be scarce during the weekend as they probably gather elsewhere where there's more buzz. Final "gift" is the nearby fish market which creates a disgusting combination of smells with the heavy traffic smog.

The only positive sides are the access to the pretty decent gym in the Regency, the minimarket near the ice rink and the superb japanese restaurant ("Miyako") but unfortunately these are just tiny minor things compared to the massive faults in cleanliness and customer service that plague the Hyatt Galleria.

Loved this place. we rented a 3 bed apartment, which was spacious, clean & well furnished. The only thing lacking was kitchen utensils. It was close to the centre of town, and cabs available in abundance. Bar, food & entertainment was great.
