We ate at Ichibans for lunch while in Ann Arbor. The fried rice was adequate. The shrimp tempura was pretty good. Nice and crispy. The soft shelled crab was pretty good. My wife liked the eel. The service was very good. Nothing in particular remarkable about the restaurant except the service

We have a standing tradition of meeting a couple for lunch at Ichiban. We haven't met for a while so it was nice to be back. The service is always great. It includes to chefs doing amazing things with their tools as they cook right in front of you. The food is always very good and the presentation is always a lot of fun.

Went with a party of 5 plus me (for total of 6). And I was on a separate ticket since I was with my friend and her family. The waitress was obviously clueless she's been there 2mths (I asked) and my friend ordered an app. And it didn't come till the end of the meal after having to ask for it and their drink had to be asked for 3 or 4 times
This was my first time ever at a hibachi and I was not impressed (we did NOT sit at a grill table) . I ordered a steak combo The waitress brought me the clear soup which was okay. And the salad that had tons of dressing on it. And that's it. My meal was never fired until we was ready to go. (We had to ask where it was twice)
My friends husband ordered a combo and never received his soup & salad.

When we complained to the manager she offered a desert while waiting but I just wanted my food...
And we waited over an hour for my food. And got a whole 20% off. Sad. I didn't even get to enjoy my meal as they was closing and it was already late. (I live 2hrs away) We had to ask another waitress for boxes and a bag for my food.

And when we paid our bills we had to ask for our change & receipts which was over $25 for my friend and again I had to wait for my change.

Doubt I will ever return.

We started going to this restaurant few years ago and it was okay. Now its so dirty and we talked to the manager so many times about the restaurant and hibachi grill being dirty everything is so greasy and disgusting. I don't step a foot in there anymore

We were somewhat reluctant to try this place because of others customers comments. We went in at 6PM on a Friday night. The place was crowded but we were seated at a habachi table within two minutes. Our table had 3 other persons already seated and our group was three. There was still room for another 4 persons at the grille. Within 10 minutes we had ordered drinks and the waitress had returned with our hot tea, soft drinks and three waters. The waitress took our order and left . Within another ten minutes we had soup and salad. By the time 30 minutes had elapsed the cook had arrived and started cooking the meals for the six of us( the four other chairs remained unfilled. The wait time was not too bad when we remembered that at a habachi restaurant in Gainesville, Florida, 6 days before we had waited and hour from the time we ordered for the cook to appear. That time we also had just six at the habachi table.
Our waitress came back and refilled the hot tea, soft drinks and water twice.
