The room was clean and comfortable. The AC unit was difficult to control. A little pricey but I guess Ann Arbor has a little to do with that.

The breakfast was good and the service was fast. I like this style of food service better than a buffet.

We came up to Ann Arbor to surprise family during a rather large event going on in the area. I'm from A2 so I'm familiar with the hotels on Boardwalk and thought nothing of booking with any of them.......mistake!! Honestly we wouldn't stay at this hotel again solely because of the room heater/cooler. We all woke up the first morning with terrible sore throats (after being on the road for 13 hours, arriving, checking in only to get to our room and start unloading to find we didn't have a fridge or coffee maker?! We book only with hotels that do have, @ least, a fridge for our daughter's needs. They'd just gone thru a "re-do" & "all refrigerators weren't in yet," except who cares the reason? Just have what you advertise!!) anyway so I glanced into the room unit and it was CAKED with dust, debris & mold-looking yuck! This hotel was not up to typical Marriott standards, very disappointing. On a positive note, after the front desk clerk moved our room (making sure to state "this was her last room" like we were a problem because we needed a fridge?!) we were put right next to the elevator and linen closet, neither could be heard in the room itself, only when you were in the bathroom or the closet area. The room's window looked out over a roof that was also full of debris, it just felt dirty in the room and that was after a recent hotel overhaul? As I said, we won't be staying with this site again and I'll have family check into any Marriott in Ann Arbor (A2) that we may be considering staying in again so we're not stuck paying a high price tag for sore throats that required a doctor's visit once home, after a 3 night stay. Bummer.......

We stayed here for one night while doing a tour of the University of Michigan. We had king bed and a sofa bed for 3 people. The sofa bed was actually good, one where you didn't feel the coils in your back. The room was clean and modern. The only issue I had was hearing the person in the room above heavily creak the floor. Depending on who's above, it probably isn't an issue. I used the fitness room and appreciated that it had free-weights. It would have been nice to have exercise mats but I made do with a towel. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel has recently been renovated and looks very nice. I travel frequently for work and with my family and choose Marriott brand hotels because of their service. Unfortunately that was a miss on this trip. The woman who checked us in was pleasant but didn't thank me for being a frequent guest although she did verify they had my rewards number in their system. My bigger concern was I asked if it would be possible to get a later check out and was told that would be taken care of. On the day of our check out house keeping knocked on the door wanting to clean the room. I explained we had a later check out and the house keeper became somewhat rude. When we did check out I asked about our late check out and was told it wasn't in the system which was very disappointing. It also explains why house keeping was expecting us to be out of the room but it didn't warrant the attitude. Again the hotel itself is very nice but the level of service was not up to normal Marriott standards.

It was pricey for just a one nights stay. We went there for a wedding and were unable to check in early. However the front desk staff were very sweet and accommodating. They had special welcome gift bags for the wedding party and handed them over as and when the guests arrived. we ended up paying !48 w/tax which did not include breakfast.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are quiet.
