“Value for money accommodation in an excellent location.”
Reviewed 3 January 2013 for a stay in December 2012

Large comfortable apartment with all amenities, located in a very central position within the village of St Wolfgang.
Loved everything about the accommodation and time we had at St Wolfgang, would love to see the addition of wi-fi, however acknowledge some of the cafes within the village had the wi-fi facility.

“Central location and good base to explore the surrounding area”

The aparment is in a great location right in the centre of St Wolfgang and the directions to reach the apartment were excellent. Parking is not available at the apartment although you can unload and use either the public car park (which was a bit pricey) or use free on street parking further away.
The apartment is up 1 flight of stairs on the first floor, we found it warm, comfortable and spacious enough for 4 people. The owners provide all the equipment/utensils you'd need for a self catering stay.
Our trip coincided with the St Wolfgang and Salzburg Christmas Markets which are both worth a visit.
Overall the apartment is good value for money but just take into account the 'add ons' which include cleaning, linen and the tourist tax which is charged per visit - so on a short break of 3 nights this was quite an extra amount on top of the basic rental (The owner does inform you of these charges before you go and are paid locally, also it seems to be typical of similar properties in the area)

“Great apartment at the heart of the village”

We have been visiting St Wolfgang since 2004 and this is the first time we have not gone with a package deal. The information and booking process for the apartment were accurate and easy to complete and the reality was even better than the photos! The owner was always helpful before our visit and the local contact friendly and efficient. The apartment was clean and tidy and very spacious for the three of us. It felt like home from home. Getting about locally is really easy- you are at the centre of Wolgangsee and can visit the other villages and attractions around the lake easily by ferry or bus. If you are going further afield look at buying a weekly bus ticket. Definite musts to visit are the Spa in Bad Ischl and a bus ride to and walk aroung Gosausee. Halstatt is stunning and the saltmines informative and fun for people of all ages. Despite having visited the area for 8 years we still found new things to see and do and left with a list of things to do next time! Foodwise if you like cake there is Cafe Wallner in the village or Cafe Zauner in Bad Ischl. The best restaurant in the village is Franz Josef or for cheap and tasty the italian restaurant in the village as you go up the hill towards hotel Peter.
Getting there without a car can be a long but picturesque journey. We travelled by Easyjet to Munich, then train and bus. If you do the same buy a Bayern ticket- it is a bargain and allows up to 5 people to travel for about 30 euros each way. Change trains at Munich Hauptbahnhof and not Munich East as the train to Salzburg can be very busy in peak season.
We loved everything about our stay and would recommend it to anyone whether travelling alone, in a small group and regardless of age. If you love mountains, lakes. walking, good food and getting to know the locals then this is the place to go!

“What a fabulous place”
Reviewed 11 October 2011 for a stay in May 2011

This is a lovely large apartment right in the centre of the village and just a minute's walk to the lake. We first visited the apartment in January 2011 and returned in May - and will be back for the Christmas markets in Nov/Dec.

We found the apartment had everything we needed and then some; although the kitchen is on the small side, everything was provided; however, if you decide to have a night off from cooking, there are some lovely places to eat close by, all serving good (reasonably priced) food.

Although you can hire a car, we don't bother and use the buses/ferries to get about.
We usually fly into Munich buy a Bayern Ticket (approx €29 and covers up to 5 people), at the airport train station, Change at Munich Ost and the train takes you into Salzburg. Come out of the train station and the bus station is directly across the road - from where you can catch the bus to St Wolfgang.

We would just mention that, as the apartment is on the first floor, there are about 10 steps from the front door to the apartment door but these aren't too steep.

“great apartment, in central location.”
Reviewed 25 May 2011 for a stay in May 2011

This apartment is easily acessable from salzburg by bus or hire car, or munich by hire car, The owner supplies clear and concise details of just how to find the property,
The apartment is very clean and well furnished, the kitchen is small but has everything you need, the lady who lives next door holds the key and she meets you on arrival and is very helpful.

This was our 4th stay in this apartment and the 1st in summer, we usually stay here in february and use the apartment as a base to travel to the many ski areas in the area, we have been to St Wolfgang for the last 9 years and still seem to find a new place to ski within an hours drive every year, such is the choice of skiing in the area, if you dont want to drive free buses pick you up in the market place which is aproximatly 100 metres from the apartments front door, and take you to the postalm, an amazing journey up the mountain side which is beautiful but not for the faint hearted (must be seen to be beleived) buses also go to gosau a large ski area with about 6 villages linked.

Our 1st visit to St Wolfgang in summer this May was to discover the place without snow and we were not disapointed, this place is just as beautiful in summer as in winter, no shortage of things to do Scharfburg cog railway a must, a trip to Halstatt and the salt mines, krippenstein caves and 5 finger view point are stunning, the lake has water sports or boat trips, or walking galore and at the end of the day plenty of restaurants, cake shops and bars to chill out in.

Do not hesitate treat yourself to a stay in this great apartment, in this great location.
