“Oasis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

After a week of touring Laos when we arrived here it was like finding an oasis in the desert. The room was spacious and bright and everything worked! The hotel is a comfortable walk to the market and Pub street and the roof top bar is a great place to have a drink and enjoy the sunset from the spa tub-cold but great for this climate. Breakfast is good with a good selection of western and local foods available, you eat in the restaurant and can read a complimentry newspaper. The staff are all friendly and very attentive, nothing is a problem. there is a notice neat the lift that says the staff have 51% ownership of the hotel-it shows! I would stay here anytime, most recommended.

I stayed here for 5 nights and was very happy with all aspects of this hotel. The location is great being only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Siem Reap but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful, facilities were clean and the room was very spacious. I particularly liked the rooftop bar where you can sip a cocktail in their hot tub in the evenings after a hard day of visiting temples!

Only a few things that are important to me when looking for a hotel on vacation:
The location, staff service / friendliness, cleanliness and price. Soria Moria boutique hotel has it all.

Location:
It is accessible to most tourist attractions and just minutes stroll away to Pub Street and Old Market, where all the bustling night life happens!

Staff:
I felt very comfortable and well taken care of by helpful, patient and friendly staff. I was very impressed by their humble nature and hospitality. There was one particular night when my friend had woken up with a throbbing headache. Desperate, he called the reception to ask if they had aspirin to spare. Although they had none to spare, I was surprised that they came knocking on your doors 10 mins later with 2 tablets of Panadol. Apparently they had gone their way out to search for it. My friend was extremely thankful. He would bit have been able to sleep that night with massive headache!

Rooms:
Clean, spacious suites (that I could do even cartwheels), bathrooms big and complete with toiletries.

Others:
Our hotel booking came with a complimentary welcome drink at the rooftop bar and breakfast buffet every morning. The rooftop bar, though small, was personal, breezy and relaxing with a nice view of the town.

I am planning to visit Siem Reap again. I love this place and I wouldn't mind coming back here to stay. The service was great and the rooms were affordable.

This review is long overdue. Stayed at Soria Moria Boutique hotel in September 2010 with 2 friends. We went to Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat and the other temples. We travelled 12 hours by bus from Saigon and we had arranged for a pick-up service from the hotel. We thought the bus ride will only take 8-10 hours but the hotel driver waited for us nonetheless. He spoke good English as well as the other staff of the hotel. The driver also became our tour guide the following day. As we were very tired from the long bus ride, all we can think of was restful sleep in a comfortable bed. Soria Moria did more than just that! The room was very spacious (we stayed at a room on the ground floor) with 3 single beds which was very comfortable with soft pillows. The bathroom was very clean and provided complete toiletries. The buffet breakfast was good and offered different choices. Our booking came with complimentary dinner which was served at the jacuzzi/bar area overlooking the city. Not really a great view but the cool evening breeze was relaxing. But what makes this the best place was the excellent service from the owner who chatted with us (and with the other guests) to their staff who were, practically, at our beck and call. I'm planning another trip to Siem Reap and I would definitely and in a heartbeat stay again at Soria Moria Boutique Hotel!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights and loved it. The staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The location is fantastic, a 5 minute stroll to pub street and the old market but away from the noise. Breakfast is great and so is the $1 tapas on wednesday nights. We also enjoyed having a drink on the rooftop bar with a view of the city. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would be back in a flash.
