Stunning interaction between both nature and structure too, picturesque at every turn and breathtakingly design. A spectacular place to visit that is wonderful to visit. Every turn is a photo opportunity, you will never regret coming here.

If you come to Siem Reap you must go see the temples around Angor Wat -and not only the main one! The smaller temples are beautiful and unique and well worth a visit.

This place is magical. Consider hiring a driver and English tour guide to get the most out of your visit.

I came to Cambodia to see temples and I was not disappointed. The Angkor Archaeological Park is really the highlight of Siem Reap. While we were there we saw Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and Bayon Temple as well as driving past some of the minor temples.

We got the one day pass at $37 USD as we had only allowed one day to see the temples. I paid using my Visa card. The pass itself is a nice souvenir as it has our pictures on it. You must show this pass at each of the sites and when requested to show it.

There is a clothing requirement to visit the temples. You need to cover your shoulders and knees but you can wear shorts as long as they cover most of your knee. This was great as it was very hot when we visited. I would also recommend that you wear comfortable shoes as you will need to do a lot of walking. Sun screen is also needed as the sun is very strong in this location.

The roads in the park are much better than the ones outside of the park. We found that out when we went to the Cambodia Landmine Museum and found that the roads there had major potholes which our driver had to maneuver around.

I would recommend hiring a guide as they know the sites, how to avoid the crowds and the history associated with the sites. We used Sak who works for the Happy Angkor Tour company and he was excellent. If you are considering going to Siem Reap to see the temples, I would highly recommend doing it. It is one of the best sights I have seen on my travels.

Visiting the Angkor Wat area, is an amazing experience. There are crowds of tourists so the best time to go is early. Although the main attraction is Angkor Wat itself, spending the time to visit all the different buildings is definitely worth it. Even if you're not a history buff the sheer size of these buildings constructed before the 1500s is amazing. Since the Wats or Temples are still considered sacred by the Cambodians, proper dress is required. We wore safari pants with the zip off legs and short sleeve shirts. Be prepared for lots of walking and climbing, since many are pyramidal temples. Keep your eyes open for hidden treasures like the face peering through the tree roots at Ta Prohm. Don't rush your visit, since there is so much history to absorb, including some amazing Bas Relief. If you're not with a tour group, your hotel can probably set you up with a reputable tour guide. Going without a guide, you may miss a lot of the less obvious treasures.
